World famous fish and chip shop/restaurant set in the picturesque Mangonui village. If you travel north to Cape Reinga or the Karikari peninsula a stop on the way back for a dinner is recommended. If the tide is in you may see the large sting ray from the board walk!

A great walk along the river from the falls all the way down to the stone store and town basin about 4kms each way. The walk is easy almost flat so you don't have to be too fit to do it. Takes about about an hour each way. Tea and coffee available at the Stone Store end at The Pear Tree and The Honey House. At the falls end is Rainbow Falls Tea Rooms. Starting point: Kerikeri Basin Recreation Reserve, off Landing Road, Kerikeri Length: 3.5km one way Time: Approximately 1.5 hours one way

This walk starts at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds (or Haruru Falls) and takes you up to the attractive horseshoe-shaped Haruru Falls. The walkway skirts the Waitangi Golf Course then follows the Waitangi River through native bush. Much of the walk runs along a boardwalk through a mature mangrove forest. We recommend returning along the same route, or organising other transport. Start point: Waitangi Treaty Grounds Length: 6km Time: 2.5 hours one way
