Temple
“Once a royal temple built specifically to house the famed Emerald Buddha, Haw Pha Kaeo is today a national museum of religious art. It is about 100m southeast of Wat Si Saket. The main hall contains a mix of Khmer carvings, Laotian Buddhas and relics from temples around town.”

“This is more a "high class" local place. You won't find any tourist there. There is live music the evening and you have a nightclub behind. It's quite huge and worth it if you never went to a thai/lao place before.”

Bar
“This is the most famous nightclub in Vientiane with The Marina. The Marina is more "high class" but this one is more friendly more near from the central town so you can easily walk there or take a tuk tuk for a cheap price. Worth to go if you want a bit of loud international music, entrance is free and prices are not that much more expensive than other places. They are selling noodles outside until closing at 3am. There is as well local food like sticky rice and fish or pork. This is the place to go when every other bars are closing in central town from 12am-1am”

Bar
“A nice rooftop bar on top of the night market. The best view in Vientiane from a bar. Service is good, you can play pool there too. After 9pm there is more "girls" next to the counter but this is expected : one of the best bar of Vientiane, full every night. Music is good too, from modern music to some rock classic, very nice place to chill”

“One of the many little restaurants opening along the mekong between 6pm and 11pm. There is acoustic music too, 95% of clients are Asian. Don't miss the huge cocktails that they serve you in a jug with an upside down beer in it and long straws. You will take funny pictures with that thing !”

Bar
“The second location of Tokyo’s renowned Dresden Bar, Dresden Lao brings the same polish and cocktail-making prowess that has made the original so famous to the capital of Laos. Once inside the bar, you are surrounded by dark polished woods, sparkling light fixtures, and a bar staff adorned in pressed white shirts, black vests and bowties standing before shelves overflowing with international spirit bottles. Whisky lovers are especially well-looked-after, with single malts numbering over thirty, including a strong selection of bourbon, Japanese, Canadian, and Irish whiskies as well. ”
