“OK, this is actually Vancouver's oldest neighbourhood (Strathcona is close!). Dining and shopping galore. Gastown grew from a single tavern founded by John ‘Gassy Jack’ Deighton back in 1867. Today, the district retains its historic charm and independent spirit. Victorian architecture houses a thriving fashion scene, impeccably curated décor boutiques, one-of-a-kind galleries and some of the best culinary fare in Vancouver. It’s a gathering place for stylish locals and an ideal neighbourhood to explore on foot. Gastown lies along the north of the downtown Vancouver peninsula, from Richards east to Main Street, and south to Hastings Street.”

“A vibrant market with a great view. Check out the market and pick up some items for a picnic in stanley park. The market has lots of artisan venders that won't disappoint. You can bike to the market or take the aquabus. Keep in mind on weekends in the summer this market gets very busy but still worth the trip, just consider going early to avoid some of the rush.”

A trendy food and drink scene includes chic cocktail lounges and restaurants serving everything from gourmet sandwiches to local seafood. Hip eateries also dot the neighboring Downtown Eastside area, while the up-and-coming Railtown district is home to edgy fashion studios.”

“Granville Island (https://granvilleisland.com) is one of our favourite spots. Public Market (Oyama Sausages is the best), artists studios, Opus Art Supplies. Try eating at Go Fish (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Go-Fish/335133559903806?nr)- the seafood is cooked right after coming off the fishing boats. ”
