“This is a nice little park in the center of the historic structures down by the water. Fort Christiansvaren boarders the northeastern side, as well as the customs house, and the scale house is at the southeast corner, with Hotel on the Cay a short ferry ride across the water. To the south is downtown and plenty of bars, restaurants, and shopping with a nice boardwalk along the water all within walking distance.”

“This is a wonderful Park to visit. Drive or taxi ride to the trail start where there is Jim and his gift shop and restaurant. His drinks are lovely and you can book private evening diner. You can just follow the main trail (as we did) or there are several trails going "off piste" for the more intrepid walkers. The views are stunning as you can see both sides of the island from here. Good walking footwear is recommended and water, of course, other than that it's a good couple of hours in pleasant woodland with fantastic views of the other islands. ”

“Explore a former sugar cane plantation that is filled with every Caribbean plant, fruit, and flower imaginable. If you’re visiting in July, you must attend Mango Melee, the island’s annual mango festival held here; it’s always one of the highlights of our year! I always walk away with incredible treasures from the tremendously talented artisans. And I’m determined that, one day, I’ll finally enter the mango eating competition, but, for now, just cheering wildly for the competitors is enough!”

“Don't go unless you have directions and a car with good ground clearance and know how to drive on unimproved dirt roads. If you see a storm blow in get out before the road gets wet. Good food and well worth the effort. Live music at times. ”
