“BEST huevos rancheros in Tucson, serving breakfast and lunch. A bit far for walking, but worth the trek or drive. Wonderful food and incredible desserts, in addition to a small but beautifully curated market. ”

“The Cup - Inside a circa-1919 hotel, this trendy American cafe serves old-school desserts & creative entrees. The Hotel Congress is a beautiful hotel with a 1920-30's art Deco feel to it. walk to the back of the lobby and you will enter the Cup. Delicious food and cool decor makes your breakfast or lunch a perfect get-a-way. Sit outdoors on the patio when the weather is nice and groove on the shade trees and people watch of course! https://hotelcongress.com/family/the-cup”

“the food here is consistently good if not mind-blowing. the real reason to go is to sit in the giant, treed courtyard while you eat. there are also often local bands or other things going on, as well as two bars on the premises. ”

“A short trip west of downtown Tucson (follow Congress under the highway) and easily accessible from Highway 10 if driving by, Sentinel Peak Park is home to the Arizona A. In a relatively quick but spectacular ascent, you can reach near the top. Pull off parking makes taking in the views easy -- perfect for photos. A parking lot nearer the top will put you close to a couple of short trails if you want to ascend higher by foot. There are informational signs about the park's history and shaded venues to sit under and take in the views of Tucson from all sides. Access is free. Public areas are a bit trashy and need some attention.”

Kino
“Roadhouse Cinemas is a dine-in movie theater, with reserved seating (make reservations on their website). They have food, drinks, desserts, and even alcoholic beverages all brought to the comfort of your seat during the movie with the push of a button. If you like popcorn, they have the best popcorn I have ever had. The white cheddar popcorn is amazing, and if you like a little spice, go half jalapeno, half white cheddar. If you like sweet popcorn, they have you covered as well. Even better is that it is unlimited and you can even take your bowl to the front popcorn counter on your way out and get a bag to go.”

Wanderweg
“If you're looking to get a good workout in, Tumamoc Hill gains 1200 ft of elevation in ~1 mile hike up a paved path and is an 8 minute walk from our home (ask me to tell you how to walk there). There are portapotties and a water fountain half way up, and this hike can be done anytime of day (including at night with a flashlight). The views of Tucson are incredible, and the history here is some of the oldest inhabited space in the USA. (There are petroglyphs all over the mountain but purposely hidden from passersby on the path.)”
