Spacious rooms in magnificent listed Georgian mansion - one of the most beautiful and oldest houses in Torquay. With up-to 5 rooms available it's ideal for families and groups of friends. Every room is large and bright. There's plenty of parking along with the peace and quiet of a secluded, totally private location.
On the 2nd floor are three double bedrooms, a huge sitting/dining room (with sofa bed), a shower room and a snug with microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. On the floor below there is a spectacular double with private modern shower/wet room and access to a shared bathroom. With sea views from both of the double bedrooms and the sitting room on the second floor, we think you'll find these one of the nicest AirBnBs you'll have stayed in. If you choose to book the 3 rooms on the 2nd floor then you will have exclusive use of the shower room, snug (with microwave, fridge kettle and toaster) and massive sitting room; it's basically a three bedroomed apartment accessed through the main house. If you are booking for 9 or 10 people please be aware that one/two of these will need to use the sofa bed in the 2nd floor sitting room (or we can add a single bed to one of the double bedrooms).
Ideally situated for the Riviera International Centre, International Agatha Christie Festival, Torquay beach, the Princess theatre and Torquay station - all are a short walk away. The Chelston part of Torquay is a leafy suburb with lots of fine Victorian villas and the seafront is but a 10 minute walk. The award winning Cockington Court and historic Torre Abbey are both within easy walking distance.

Recently featured on ‘The Culture Trip’ blog as one of the ‘TOP TEN FAIRYTALE CASTLES’ to stay in on Airbnb! Check out the Culture Trip website to read their amazing review on our home. Our home is a stunning section of a Victorian mansion house. With huge entertaining spaces and magnificent views out to sea. Enjoy time in luxurious surroundings in a beautiful part of the country. contact me for special deals as prices change depending on the time of the year. High season exceptions apply.
PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT ACCEPT 2 NIGHT BOOKINGS DURING HIGH SEASON, FROM JULY-SEPTEMBER. Totally unique 3 storey section of grand mansion with large enclosed gardens Lots of original features Open fire in the sitting room 2 large flat screen TVs bedrooms spread over three floors for extra privacy ideal for families and couples off road parking spaces lots of local activities: golf courses, fishing, walking, seaside activities etc. AMAZING views Famous former residents; Vivien Leigh & Laurence Olivier. recently renovated with new heating system & roof. Decorated for Christmas Large garden Views Full use of section of house Original roll top bath Close to the sea and Dartmoor Quaint English seaside town Lots of excellent restaurants Traditional pubs Easy access to Exeter and Plymouth Excellent public transport; we have a mainline railway station less than 1/2 mile down the road and there are also excellent bus links. Passenger ferry across to the fishing village of Shaldon (the oldest ferry route in the British Isles). MINIMUM OF 3 NIGHT STAY. All damage must be paid for. Any extra cleaning charges will also be taken from deposit. Double doors lead out to a fenced off area of a large garden. Lots of local shops in Teignmouth town along with pubs and restaurants and takeaways. There is a Waitrose supermarket in town and about 1 mile away is a Morrisons supermarket. Mainline train station is a five minute walk away from the property and there are lots of different bus routes from town that take you to Exeter, Plymouth and Dartmoor. The previous owners of this house had massively neglected it and let it fall into a terrible state of disrepair - it was pretty much derelict when we bought it. It had no staircase, water, electricity or gas supply. The roof let in approximately 40 litres of water every time it rained and the windows were all rotten. Over the last 9 years we have lovingly restored it - replaced the rotten windows; had a new roof (and insulation!) fitted, a new heating system has been installed and we have tastefully decorated with colours representative of the era it was built. We've given the house a little bit of dignity back. It's an on going project though so please take into consideration it's not a modern, double glazed property and you might feel a draught here and there!
We're a five minute walk from the beach and the town centre; as we're located on the top of a hill, we have the most magnificent views out to sea, estuary and the moors. It's an idyllic location and a beautiful house.

Brand new, stylish hilltop flat with stunning views over Torbay. Located between Torquay town centre & Babbacombe, the flat is a beautifully decorated with its own private outdoor courtyard. The flat comes with parking, WiFi, TV with Netflix, washing machine. Torquay town centre is a 25 minute walk away or 5 minute bus ride, whilst the beautiful Babbacombe Downs 15 minutes walk. There are lovely shops, Delis, restaurants & a local pub located in Wellswood Village which is 5 minute walk away.
The flat is attached to the main house with a large garden which you are free to also use. It’s very handy for BBQs or for letting your children explore and run around. In addition, there is a conservation woodland at the back of the property (across the road) which is great for little walks. The place is situated near Anstey’s Cove and Meadfoot Beach, both of which are beautiful to visit or for hiring kayaks and doing some water sports. Furthermore, there are some beautiful coastal routes in the area with some fantastic views.frf
The flat is surrounded by beautiful trees which gives it a really peaceful feeling. As it is on a hilltop you get some beautiful views and peeps of the sea in summer and once the leaves fall in autumn you get a lovely view of the sea and hills in front. The area is considered to be in a lovely part of Torquay and is very safe and quiet. If you don’t fancy staying right in the noisy centre and like a retreat to relax in after a busy day exploring then this little haven is perfect for you. It’s a good access point to see most parts of the Torbay.

Garden flat - perfect for couples. Set all on one level where you live, eat and sleep: watch TV from the comfort of the two-seater sofa or whip up light meals in the smart little kitchen, sleep deeply in the comfortable, king size bed in the tastefully dressed bedroom – there’s a separate cute and sparkling shower room. Good lighting, pretty fabrics, soft pastel walls and solid oak doors comprise a bright understated décor. The living area is cosy while the light-filled, compact kitchen is neat-as-a-pin with its white sink, striped blinds at the windows and all the stuff you need for cooking breakfasts and suppers. Lots of useful basics, plus milk, bread, tea, coffee and eggs are left for you. Meals can be eaten at the little kitchen table or outside on the patio when the weather is good. Step outside to catch the morning sun on the patio and enjoy the sea view towards Berry Head and Brixham and nearby Occombe woods, an idyllic spot for breakfast or evening sundowners. In sunny weather you can sit in the garden or take a bottle of wine and stoke up the BBQ. You could just stay put and read your book, your peace will only be interrupted by the carefree cry of seagulls. Take to the sofa after a day trip and maybe enjoy some TV, there are also DVDs, books, board games and a deck of cards to while away the hours, also maps and local guides on the shelf to inspire you. So, relax and enjoy this clever space; with your own front door you’ll feel nicely private if you prefer to be, plus your own parking space. All in all a cosy apartment - come for calm, comfort and of course Devon cream teas! The owners live on site and will welcome you into this comfortable, self-catering hideaway for two, there if you need them but otherwise discreet if you prefer to be. Paignton, Torquay and Brixham all have attractive harbours where it is fun to sit with an ice cream or a beer and a sandwich and people-watch – it’s real old-fashioned English seaside holiday stuff but there is much to explore too. There are miles of coast, wood and moorland to explore; pubs and tea rooms along the way and hikers can head for the scenic South West Coast Path. Paignton Zoo and the Dartmouth Steam Railway are popular attractions and almost on the doorstep. National Trust properties at Compton, Collaton Fishacre, Greenway, Saltram and Killerton – all within easy reach by car.

Clean fresh towels, and a hot shower or bath. You will have your own key, and free access to come and go as you please. Our house is old and full of character, and our trusty old dog Tilly, will greet you with a waggy tail!!!

Torquay is in the English Riviera famed for its mild Winters and Sunny Summers and its Palm Trees . We even have banana plants growing in our Garden. Torquay is a sophisticated coastal town not a kiss me quick seaside resort. There is so much to see and do for all ages. Even in the winter nearly everything is open. It is not a seasonal town.
  • Erstaunlich seltener Fund.

  • Schöner Platz in toller Lage. Geniale Gastgeber auch!

    Maddie2020-03-10T00:00:00Z

  • Sehr gut ausgestattete zwei Schlafzimmer Platz.

Delightful and cosy Victorian "workers cottage" set along a private mews in a quiet residential area just a few minutes walk to the harbour and beaches. This two double ensuite bedroomed property is newly refurbished with modern decor.
Mews Cottage sits conveniently between both Torquay's beaches and the harbour, only 5 minutes walk away. Daddyhole Plain just around the corner and the Princess Theatre is just a walk past the harbour with its classy bars and restaurants, it's ideally situated to access everything Torquay has to offer. Just park up and go and explore. Mews Cottage is adorable and very cosy with modern fixtures throughout and has just been refurbished to a very high standard. The cottage may me quaint and cosy but it boasts two large double bedrooms, one with ensuite bathroom and the second with an ensuite shower/wet room offering complete convenience and independence. The TV lounge is furnished comfortably with two settees and there's a dining table to seat four. Alternatively, take a more casual seat in the kitchen and cook up a feast or just enjoy breakfast, whilst utilising the brand new equipment and accessories. A welcome pack is included. There is no designated parking space directly outside the cottage, however there is parking on the road to access the mews. We are 1.5 miles from Torquay Station - about 8 minutes drive or 30 minutes walk.
A quiet residential area with both Meadfoot Beach, Daddyhole Plain and the harbour/town within a 5 minute walk. You may even hear our resident owl of an evening or see the bats flying around at dusk time and alway an array of birds singing in the morning. This is a very relaxing neighbourhood.

    Jason2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Mews Cottage war eine schöne malerische Berghütte. Großartige Lage in Gehweite zu Annehmlichkeiten. Gut vorgestellt. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Clean, comfortable, pleasantly decorated, quiet double room with your own en-suite with shower/bath, sink and toilet. Window looks over the peaceful and attractive back garden. Free parking at front of house. Light breakfast of cereal included.
The double bedroom is situated on the first floor and the kitchen on the ground floor. All towels and bedding is supplied and there is also use of the washing machine at an additional cost. WiFi is available throughout the house. There is a hairdryer and iron in the room. We are a 10 minute walk to the nearest beach (Meadfoot Beach) and a 10 minute walk to the main town, harbour area including pubs, clubs and restaurants. We are also situated on a local bus route with a bus stop directly outside the close.
Quiet, off the main road area with views of the bay from the main road. Plenty of trees and access to beach through the woods.

Quiet room in a friendly house. Setup as a Single or twin. Ideal for student nurses and doctors at Torbay District Hospital. It is close enough to walk to the hospital as parking is limited in the surrounding streets. We like accommodating students especially those wanting a recurring mid week booking or for short stays. Also we offer some discount on longer stay to hospital staff. We are a clean quiet household as one party works shifts, we have two outdoor Rabbits that live in the back garden.
Our attic is a quiet and spacious room, made as a cosy single or twin for guests. It has great light from the Velux window with a sky view. The beds are super comfy, there is a table and chairs. In the room is a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The room is situated upstairs away from other bedrooms all downstairs.
There is a sea peep from a veranda in the garden and certainly from the driveway you can view the Torquay harbour and Big wheel in season. We have shops less than 5 mins walk and a very good Fish and Chips shop.

Conveniently placed just a 10 to 15 minute walk from the seafront with all its bars and restaurants! We have 3 bedrooms available. This one is King size but we also have a double and twin available [see also https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/18923528 & https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/18921971]. The bedrooms share a bathroom with bath and shower plus a separate WC. All rooms are on the 1st floor - so not convenient for wheelchair users, sorry.
Guests are welcome to help themselves to cereal for breakfast or can use the kitchen if they would prefer to prepare something more substantial for themselves.
You won't find much more of a ‘traditional British seaside’ resort than the vibrant and cheerful town of Torquay. Set at the very heart of the English Riviera on the South Devon Coast, Torquay is famous for its sandy beaches, family attractions and genteel Victorian appearance. Made famous by the legendary comedy series Fawlty Towers, Torbay is distinctly Mediterranean and is a family favourite with plenty of attractions and things to do.
