“On the east side of Toronto Island, take the ferry to the Ward's Island dock to start off in the more residential, quieter and less touristy part of the island. Ward's Island beach is located at the start of the boardwalk, next to a small playground with washrooms behind the soccer field. It's the least busy of the three main beaches of the island. The Rectory Cafe is our favourite spot on the island to enjoy a meal, and their lovely tree-covered patio looking out over Lake Ontario is dreamy to say the least. Walk along the south boardwalk along the lake or try out the disc golf course. There's even Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) in the Ward's Island lagoon. Rent a bike, kayak or canoe!”
