“Fantastic track. Can do whole track but need to book through DOC website or just go for a walk there for an hour or two. Start at control gate and walk to Dock Bay or Brod Bay or even further by climbing up to Luxmore Hut, fantastic. ”

“Doubtful or Milford Sound? hmmmm...both if you can but I really love Doubtful Sound because it is much quieter (crowd wise) than Milford Sound. You can do day cruises with either Real Journeys or Go Orange. Real Journeys also do an overnight cruise. They get booked up well in advance though so let me know if you'd like to make a reservation. Same for Milford Sound. ”

“Upmarket take away food. Very tasty Vietnamese Bao (steamed dumplings) with a choice of beef cheek, pulled pork, hare and tofu. Vietnamese loaded fries are extremely addictive. Very tasty salads too. Its a little pricey $14 -$20 but worth it. PS the photo is a terrible photo.”

Hostel
“Even if we didn't own it we'd recommend it! Serving great food is our passion and we take special care to create a regional cuisine that reflects the heritage and environment of Kinloch. Everything is sourced as locally and sustainably as possible; some of it's grown in our own organic veggie garden. We offer award-winning wines and boutique beers, as well as excellent coffee created with the glacial fed waters of our lake passed through UV filters. There's a deck with lake views for the warmer months and a cozy fire for those cooler nights. On the last Friday of the month we often have a jam night involving live music from locals and guests.”

Explore glacial fed rivers with stunning back drops that were used in The Lord of the Rings or enjoy some of the rich history of the area.”
