“This is very close to us, just a couple of valleys over. If you visit here you have to swim here! Jump into a deep pool of the coldest water you have experienced unless you are a regular ice water swimmer.”

“Right in town with plenty of parking, it can get very busy around Xmas New Year. Try and keep to turning left only and trying to cross intersections is almost impossible during the holiday season.”

“Want to sit outside after you've walked the Abel Tasman National Park, or just feel like soaking up the atmosphere of the Fat Tui environment? The best hamburgers in town - possibly the South Island, right at your doorstep. Relax while the team in the outdoor caravan put your burger together for you, on one of the outside barbecue tables. Absolutely worth the wait, which can be quite a while in the middle of the high season, but can be filled in with a stroll along the beach at Marahau.”

“Our No1 pic, one of the best, easily accessible cave networks you'll come across. Its a family run business, $20per adult less for others. The tours start on the hour so be there at least 15 mins before to pay otherwise you may miss a bit of the tour or have to wait for the next one, each tour lasts approx. 45 mins. There is a small café and shop also on site.”

Store
“Great time shopping and eating is at the Saturday Nelson and Sunday at the Motueka markets. You will find all kinds of specialties sold by locals i.e. delicious olive oil, honey, specialty cheese, bread, fruits and vegetables, delicatessen German meats and far more for sale and on spot consumption. There are plants, clothing, jewelry, antiques and anything you might think of that you “have to have”, or just browse around and enjoy the local scene. Both markets are open 8AM -1PM. The sooner you come the more choices you will have. These markets are very popular and attended by many people especially in summer time. ”
