Parks & Natur in Santa Rosa

Park
“Beautiful oak woodland situated on the hill above Santa Rosa between Sonoma and Bennett valleys. Excellent hiking and mountain bicycle riding. Be careful when you hike however because mountain bicyclists enjoy virtually unlimited access (for now) and many travel quite fast on narrow trails.”

“If you have kids, there is a great park there. One of best! There is also a great lake near the park for fishing, row boat rentals, etc. Kids or not, Howarth Park is also at the foot of Annadel State Park, which is a very large natural area filled with hiking and amazing mountain biking! Spring Lake is at the center of the park, and its an amazing and very popular 2.5 (approx) mile walk. We are less than 10 minutes away.”

Park
“You can take the easy trail -- Todd Creek and get in and out of there in 1.5 miles. Access that trail over by the Porta Potties. Look for the sign just past the water reservoir. You'll wind through some Oaks and come out through an open meadow. A very slight incline. If you want to get some real exercise, do the loop. It's maybe a little over 2 miles but it has some serious incline or decline depending on your approach. The hilly part can get seriously muddy when the weather is inclement. The views are nice from the harder trail.”

Park
“The most beautiful park in Santa Rosa with hundreds of varieties of trees, and which is just around the corner from us. We don't recommend walking alone through it at night, as with many parks, some people like to make it their home at night, and not all of those people are friendly. During the day, we love to stroll through, picnic, and enjoy”
