Erstklassige Parks

Park
“What to say? One of the great parks of the United States. Just head down the hill to Kezar Stadium (at the very bottom of Willard Street) and you'll see the GGP right beyond it (walk around Kezar to the west to enter the park). You can also enter on Stanyan and Haight (and at many other points). Enjoy the Academy of Sciences, de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Stow Lake, the Conservatory of Flowers (great night time light shows in the summer and winter) and many, many other features of the park.”

“If you're traveling with young kids (under 5) and have a car, this "museum" is a must. You get to take the gorgeous trip across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito to a kid outdoor play haven. Pair a trip to the Discovery Museum with lunch or an early dinner at Fish, and the Marin Headlands and you have yourself a full day!”

“Stern Grove has a free concert every Sunday early afternoon during the summer. Look up the details online to see who is performing. You can bring wine/ snacks and sit picnic style if you go much earlier to save your spot. I think it's worth it! I've seen some really great performances here and it's Freeeee! ”

“Totally toddler friendly park with two massive play structures; one for the big kids and one for the littler guys. Both well separated so the big kids don't mall the littler ones. ”

Beach
“leave your inhibitions and swimsuit at home. If you're not familiar with the Pacific Ocean in SF - only the daring swim it unless it's 100 degrees F outside. The water is bitterly cold! This is predominantly a gay beach, but welcoming of everyone. It's a hike to get down there. At the foot of the stairs there's a small uncrowded beach. Keep going around the big rocks and you'll likely see some things you've never seen before. Keep going til the very end (tide dependent) until the security guard yells at you for going too far and you'll be standing RIGHT under the Golden Gate Bridge - one of the coolest, least-photographed views of the bridge is from right here. ”
