Lake
“Versatile forest with beach pool, for rest and recreation Barbecuing at the beach, to the De Kraal petting zoo, running around for pee: there is no Rotterdammer who does not enjoy the Kralingse Bos. It is a versatile recreational area that received the prize for best outdoor space in the Netherlands in 2007. Peace and quiet The outer ring is wooded and peaceful. In the area between the Manege Kralingen and the golf course you will find quiet paths under tall old trees. There are also few people between the deer park and the children's farm. Here you can hear the woodpecker hammering and the pheasants run through the undergrowth. Do you like romance? Then take a walk in the twilight over the bridges towards the windmills De Lelie and De Ster. These are the only working snuff and spice mill in the Netherlands.”

Park
“The Park is located along the river Maas and next to the Euromast and Scheepvaartkwartier. From nearly any place in the park you've got a magnificient view at the Euromast. The eastern part of the park dates from 1853 and was designed by architect Jan David Zocher and his son Louis Paul in English landscape style. The park was extended in 1886 when the western part, also called the Hill was added to the park. The park next to the Euromast doesn't have a name and is simply called het park, but sometimes it's also called the Euromast park or Zochers park, named after the architect. You can relax in this green oasis and escape from the hectics of the nearby city centre. Rotterdam's biggest park is the park at Lake Kralingen, which is located a bit further away from the city centre.”
