“Even if you don't need tools or trinkets, Hippo Hardware is worth a walk about. It's almost more of a museum of hardware stuff than a store. Make sure to go to the floor with all the lights and lamps!!”

History Museum
“Oregon’s Maritime Museum is located in downtown Portland on the waterfront. Here you can go enjoy the waters on the last operating sternwheel steam tug in the US. Along with your cruise of the Willamette river, you can check out their maritime artifacts and learn about steam power, sailing, and the people who powered them.”

“Most locals don't even know this place exists... Quirky local museum tucked away on the first floor of the Police Bureau building. It's free admission and open weekdays with limited hours. check out how law was enforced in the early days of the wild west, when brothels and opium dens filled the Old Town area, and the city had a single sheriff. Lots of artifacts from the 1800's. Expect to spend at least 30-60 minutes here if you like history. ”
