“The Pittock Mansion is a French Renaissance-style château. But if you are in the mood for a beautiful view of Portland with Mt. Hood in the backdrop, on a non cloudy day :), then this is a must. There are two way to get there. First is by car which will take you to the parking lot of the Mansion. After you are done sightseeing, can you quickly drive to the Washington Park International Rose Garden and the Japanese Garden. The other way to get to Pittock Mansion is by hiking through Forest Park. To do this, you will have to drive to Lower Macleay Park. Take the hike until you reach the abandoned Stone House. You will continue hiking past and the trail will bring you to the Pittock Mansion. The hike is about 40 min, depending on your pace. It is worth it! ”

“You can see most of Portland from the view points at the Rose Gardens. I could spend hours there as there are so many kinds of roses. There is no charge to go through the gardens ; however there is a charge for parking. While you are there you might as well check out the Japanese Gardens right up the hill from the parking lot. ”
