“Known for its wacky flavors (like Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper), this local ice cream shop is very popular and very “Portland.” Expect a long wait, or pick up a pint to go instead! Located about 2 miles west in the Alberta Arts District”

“This popular park features expansive views, picnic areas, natural-surface and paved paths, a dog off-leash area, a playground and a performance stage, plus tennis, volleyball and basketball courts. Mt Tabor is an extinct volcano located just east of the Hawthorne neighborhood, contains a great number of trails running around and up and down its steep slopes. Great views of the city await you at the summit, and the park also boasts two playgrounds in case you need a rest but your children don’t!”

“One of Portland's coolest and most beautiful spots in a sketchy area. The Chinese Gardens are a full block radius oasis in Chinatown and so worth the visit. They have the Tao of Tea teahouse inside and you can easily spend a couple of hours relaxing and wandering and taking photos and having tea. Just be aware that Chinatown is not a nice area. It's an intriguing contrast. ”

“American fast-food style burger in a bar/restaurant with a nice outdoor patio. Most pubs in the neighborhood offer good, hefty burgers with plenty of dressings, this is a simpler, slightly smaller one, but solid and satisfying. This restaurant is attached to the lovely Mississippi Studios music venue.”

“This is a hugely popular donut shop. During the summer expect long lines out the door. It is right next to the famous wall that is painted "Keep Portland Weird".”
