Buchhandlung
“Biggest and best bookstore ever - new, used and historic. 6 floors I think? Across from. Starbucks and their own great espresso. You can easily spend a day. ”

Park
“Forest park offers a plethora of hiking trails, biking paths, mountain biking trails, unique vistas of the city and Cascade Mountain range. I enjoy the longer hikes that end up at Skyway Tavern for horseshoes and ping pong. The Southeastern part of the park is close to fun shops and a variety of food and drink options around NW 23rd and Thurman Ave.”

“The Portland Art Museum was founded in 1892 and is the seventh oldest museum in the country. The museum has become famous around the world because of its permanent collection that has more than 42,000 pieces in it. For history buffs there are plenty of historic art pieces on display. There are many pieces that have been collected from the native people of North America as well as a large collection of English silver. The campus that the museum sits on also has the Jubitz Center for Modern and Contemporary Art which is well worth taking a look at.”

Museum
“ The historic house museum built in 1914, Pittock Mansion tells the story of Portland’s transformation from pioneer town to modern, industrialized city through the history and legacy of one its most influential families, the Pittocks. Saved from demolition by dedicated citizens in 1964, the Mansion and surrounding estate was purchased by the City of Portland and opened to the public as a historic house museum. Plus, it is situated in an elevation that give you the view of the beautiful Portlandia.”

Some good sites are: Edgefield, M Crystal Hotel and Ballroom, Grand Lodge, Kalama lodge (30 miles north in WA). Many more smaller historic pubs all around Portland. ”

“One of the bigger Portland parks with plenty of paved and dirt trails to walk, bike, skate or scoot around on. The scenery is densely landscaped to block out the nearby roads and traffic. The lake in the middle is a popular spot to read and sunbathe during the summer”
