Erstklassige Restaurants

Casino
“One of the newer attractions on Northside. The casino offers slots, craps, poker & other table games, several restaurants & dinner theater.”

Restaurant
“Noodlehead is the kind of place you go to when you want to feel bougie but still don’t want to spend more than $10 on dinner. The rustic-meets-modern interior coupled with a Thai-fusion menu and no dish over $9 makes Noodlehead a winner in any book. Try the Chiang Mai Curry for a fun play on yellow curry, or stick with the tried-and-true Pad Thai for a phenomenal $9 dinner.”

Restaurant
“Takeout only. Nicky's is the only thai place on Northside, and boy is it good. I usually get pad thai (spice level starts at 1) or curry (spice level starts at 2 but it feels like a 3) and I always get an order of crab rangoons! ”

Sandwich-Laden
“If yinz don't go here, everyone you tell about your trip to Pittsburgh will ask you if you had a Primanti Bros sandwich and if you say no, they are going to wonder why they are even friends with you. Believe me when I say you shouldn't need to eat for the rest of the day, but it's just one of those things you gotta try once! Or you could not - and say you DID. I think this is the original location, but don't quote me on that. There are several others as well if you want to try squeezing it into your existing plans elsewhere.”

Café
“Hands down the best breakfast/brunch spot that I know of in Pittsburgh. Fresh ingredients, creative menu, great coffee, and afterwards you can stroll the rest of Butler street in Lawrenceville and find out what all the hype is about! *Not a greasy spoon so prices are a little above average than the famous Pamela's, DeLuca's, etc. Also, if you come back a hipster I can't take the blame for that.”

“Italian Cappuccino and a 10 minute walk from there up to the historic highland park with gorgeous flowers, a restored fountain, large old trees, and a reservoir. Not to mention jazz every Sunday evening in August!”

Café
“I recommend this place because it was one of the first coffee shops in the area and because of the great courtyard across the street where you can enjoy your beverage in the fresh air. The vibe here can be a bit stand offish to outsiders. I don't think it's intentional but I wouldn't come here to get a taste of the Pittsburgh friendliness. ”

Vegetarisches / Veganes Restaurant
“This middle eastern influenced vegan cafes in the neighborhood of Lawrenceville is one of my favorite places in the city. It is outstanding for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their sourdough pancakes are some of the best I've ever had. Their hearty tofu scrambles will impress meat eaters alike and leave you wondering how they manage to do it.”

Bar
“This place is located right up on Shiloh Avenue, next to Grandview Ave (where the lookout is). The staff is great, the atmosphere is one of the best on Mount Washington, low-lit and cozy yet fun because they have an entire corner filled with board games, great music, and their cocktails are incredible. I highly recommend the Old-Fashioned, they use fresh muddled orange and those new fancy purple cherries, the big round ice cubes, I mean come on!”

Donut-Laden
“Walk down Atwood on any afternoon and you’re bound to be intoxicated by the smell of fresh frying donuts. You can stick with a fan favorite like the French Toast or Samoa donut, or go crazy making your own combo. Whichever poison you choose, there’s no better way to ruin your diet in the ‘Burgh.”
