The only way to preserve them was to proceed with their detachment, through the technique of "tearing", which led to the discovery of the underlying "sinopie" the preparatory drawings.”

“The Royal Palace, which now houses the homonymous National Museum, built in 1559, was hosted by the patrician family Pisana dei Caetani, who took over the Medici family. Cosimo I commissioned Bernardo Buontalenti To rebuild the building between 1583 and 1587. Over time there were other modifications and enlargements. Originally, two overpasses connected the building to the Church of St. Nicholas (XIII century), for the private ceremonies of the family de ' Medici. The palace was for centuries court and residence pisana of the houses of the Tuscan rulers, from Doctors To Lorraine, up to Savoia. ”
