“The Liberty Bell, previously called the State House Bell or Old State House Bell, is an iconic symbol of American independence, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Once placed in the steeple of the Pennsylvania State House (now renamed Independence Hall), the bell today is located in the Liberty Bell Center in Independence National Historical Park. The bell was commissioned in 1752 by the Pennsylvania Provincial Assembly from the London firm of Lester and Pack (known subsequently as the Whitechapel Bell Foundry), and was cast with the lettering "Proclaim LIBERTY Throughout all the Land unto all the Inhabitants Thereof", a Biblical reference from the Book of Leviticus (25:10). The bell first cracked when rung after its arrival in Philadelphia, and was twice recast by local workmen John Pass and John Stow, whose last names appear on the bell. In its early years, the bell was used to summon lawmakers to legislative sessions and to alert citizens about public meetings and proclamations.”

“A Philly classic cultural visit, required. A lot of original impressionist paintings (Matisse, Renoir, etc) in a recreated 'home' setting, so the works of art are very near.”

“An interactive science museum, the Franklin Institute would be a great place to bring the kids. Also fun for adults looking to learn a few things and play around with the science displays. Definitely check out which traveling exhibit is showing at the time.”

“The museum is one of the largest art museums in the world based on gallery space. Besides being known for its architecture and collections, the Philadelphia Museum of Art has in recent decades become known due to the role it played in the Rocky films—Rocky (1976) and six of its seven sequels, II, III, V, Rocky Balboa, Creed, and Creed II. Several special exhibitions are held in the museum every year, including touring exhibitions arranged with other museums in the United States and abroad”

“This is the beer garden you have to check out when in Philly. 1 Liter beers, outdoor fire pits, German food, and games. I frequent this place regularly as it never disappoints. Even when it’s cold out, they have a lot of heaters outside that can keep it decently comfortable. There is also an indoor area if you need it. Even though it’s a beer garden, I see a lot of families there with kids regularly so don’t feel as if the whole family can’t go. ”

“This is Philly cheesesteak in Philly, by far! There will likely be a line but it moves quickly. You will also leave smelling like onions, but it's worth it. I reccomend ordering with "whiz" and onions, but that's up to you. ”

“The Sardine Bar is a very short walk away and is a great place to grab a drink or a bite, especially later at night. They've got a rotating cast of craft beers and some really creative sandwiches. When the weather is nice, we like to sit in their backyard for happy hour. The Sardine Ale and Kenzinger are our go-to for beers.”

Brauerei
“Founded in 1985, this award-winning brewery has called West Philadelphia home since 2007, when it opened its newest brewpub in a century-old firehouse on Baltimore Avenue. Since then, it’s been serving gourmet wood-fired pizzas, char-grilled sandwiches, salads and a half-dozen unfiltered draft selections, brewed just steps from the bar in a classic German copper brewhouse. Beer lovers know to come here for select rotating taps and takeout bottles and cans. Stop by the cannery and tasting lounge — opened next door to the brewpub in 2017 — for beers, draft wine, cocktails and more.”
