Best things to do in Oslo

Gastronomiebereich
“Mathallen Oslo is a foodie's paradise: an indoor food market with more than 30 specialty shops, cafés and eateries that offer high-quality products and dishes from Norway and abroad. Here you will find items that you can not find elsewhere in the city, and you will meet staff who are proud of their products and who will gladly talk food and give you good recommendations. Several of the shops and eateries have their own serving areas, but it is also possible to buy food from several different places and enjoy it in the common serving area in the centre, Torget.”

Opera House
“You may not be a fan of the Opera, but a visit to - or rather up ON - the Oslo Opera house is a good idea. Wether as a stop on a walk along the seafront, which I really recommend, or as a single destination. It is a nice walk on the roof there, with good view to both older an newer parts of the city. How to get there? Just take the bus down to the railway station (Oslo S) and walk through the station. ”

Pub

“This is the city hipster area. Here you can find lots of cafes, bars and parks to hang out in. Both at daytime and nighttime. From my location this is located at the opposite part of the city center, but it is very easy to get there by public transport. You can either take tram 11 or 12 (any direction) from Majorstuen to for example Olav Ryes Plass (tram station at Grünerløkka) or take the metro down to Jernbanetorget (Oslo S) and change to more options with the tram there. Taking the tram can be a nice way of sightseing the city while travellig from one place to the other. ”

“Popular Italian restaurant in the urban area Grünerløkka. Villa Paradiso serves authentic Italian pizza and other Italian dishes throughout the day. In the summer they open up the seating area outside where you get a view of the city life on Grünerløkka while eating great pizza. “A great choice of authentic Italian dishes in premises that will make you dream like you are in a Italian village.
