“is a big conglomerate of food vendors all in a market hall with a biergarten on top and long wooden picnic tables in the back. Here, you’ll find taco vendors, pizza vendors, mezcal vendors, craft beer vendors, the gluten-free specialty goods vendor La Otilia. La Otilia sells gluten-free baked goods and Mexico’s only certified gluten-free beer. ”

“Great choice for lunch in the city center, serving traditional Mexican dishes. More than 100 years old, Diego Rivera got married for the first time here, and the city's famous rock band Cafetacuba named themselves after this place. ”

“Considered the best bread you'll find in Mexico City and a lovely eclectic space to dine in. I go there often for treats like cinnamon rolls or baguettes. The baguette with ham and butter is amazing. It can be quite the scene on weekends. ”

“AMAZING PLACE & Good food. In the open-air courtyard of the 17th-century Downtown Mexico Hotel sits the charming Azul Historico, potentially one of the best restaurants in the city. With tall spindly trees, rough-hewn tables, and women making tortillas by hand in the corner, it's a pleasant place for a relaxing late lunch while in the Historic Center. Traditional Mexican food, like spicy and chile-laden "mole negro de oaxaca" is legendary, while the "cochinita pibil" is a classic. There are no wild flourishes here, just well-executed, elegant plates, try the enchiladas in a mild chipotle sauce filled with hibiscus flowers, the same ones used to make the tangy Jamaica drink.”

“Azul offers authentic Mexican cuisine of high quality and prestige, which is still affordable. Focusing on every detail from when dishes are being prepared to the moment they are served, dining here is always a charming experience for those who desire an elegant but relaxed evening. Nature adds a dash of freshness to Azul Condesa, with its many plants decorating the dining room which is mostly lit with natural light. Even better is that they offer a seasonal menu, ensuring fresh ingredients for their heavenly traditional dishes from the various regions of Mexico.”

“PUJOL $$$$$ To experience Mexico’s culinary past and future (sometimes in the same dish, as in the “mole madre, mole nuevo”—a fresh mole atop one that’s been fed sourdough-starter-style for almost three years and counting). This spot is the flagship of Enrique Olivera, a bona fide celebrity in Mexico; alumni have gone on to start many of the country’s most acclaimed restaurants. Pujol moved into a sexy new space in early 2017 but already feels well lived-in. Open Monday to Saturday, 1:30 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Closed Sunday. Reservations all but required a month or more in advance for primetime. Allow at least three hours for the full meal.”
