“4-5 min away. Moderna galerija houses the national collection of 20th century Slovene art (paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings as well as photography, video and electronic media collections) and a collection of works from the former Yugoslavia. Collections overview is available on this link zbirke.mg-lj.si. The national collection presents the basic stages in the development of the Slovene tradition of modern and contemporary art from the beginning of the 20th century onwards. Moderna galerija does not regard its collections as rigidly separated fields; it rather links and combines them in dynamic ways.”

History Museum
“If you needed a reason to visit Tivoli Park, it's here. This fascinating museum inside a wonderful 18th-century mansion presents the history of Slovenia from the period around the start of the First World War until the Slovenian Presidency of the EU in 2008. Using a combination of well presented exhibits including old photographs, clothing and household items the museum charts the often wobbly path of the nation through and between the two world wars and the difficult and truly fascinating post-war communist years. The building alone is worth seeing, being a marvellous combination of original Baroque and the interesting modernist work of the Slovenian architect Jurij Kobe who extension to the museum dates from 1991.”

“A Monument to Maks Fabiani! After the earthquake in 1895 Maks Fabiani has created a new urban plan of the city Ljubljana. According to his plan a city center was created between Masarykova street, Njegoševa road, Roška road, Karlovška street, Zoisova street, Aškerčeva street and along the Tivoli park. (Bleiweisova street, Tivolska road). Also Prešernova street and a street behind the Ljubljana castle. Architect has created a plan for all of the roads a way before the first car has arrived. He created an updated grid of the streets inside of a ring. Today known as internal ring. Opposite of his statue the Fabiani duplex Bridge has been built which connected the ring into a closed loop. Fabiani has also planned many monuments (A monument of France Prešern on Prešern Square today's central tourist point), many city squares (a square of Liberation Front), many ramps in Park Tivoli and many buildings within the ring. With all of his work contributed to the city he may be called "a creator, the father" what most tourists and residents of Ljubljana enjoy today. His great works can be seen in other cities abroad. On his honor few things has been named after his achievements. A Fabiani Bridge, A Fabiani street and a Fabiani award for urban achievements. Enter the city by stop at it's "creator" first and enjoy his great works one after another :)”
