Bar
“It is a small roof top bar that is pseudo bohemian. Perhaps the only bar that stays open until midnight. A decent place to grab a drink and listen to live music if you are in a mood to party when everything else is closed. ”

“Welcome to Kyoto! Authentic Japanese food executed with great love and skill by a fantastic Chef in an open kitchen/ sushi bar. Real efficient and friendly service. Kotetsu is by far the freshest and best fish / seafood restaurant of KTM; closed on Sundays and often full for dinner, make sure to book.”

Sublocality
“Swayambhunath (Devanagari: स्वयम्भू स्तूप; Nepal Bhasa: स्वयंभू; sometimes Swayambu or Swoyambhu) is an ancient religious architecture atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. The Tibetan name for the site means 'Sublime Trees' (Wylie: Phags.pa Shing.kun), for the many varieties of trees found on the hill. However, Shing.kun may be a corruption of the local Nepal Bhasa name for the complex, Singgu, meaning 'self-sprung'.[1] For the Buddhist Newars, in whose mythological history and origin myth as well as day-to-day religious practice Swayambhunath occupies a central position, it is probably the most sacred among Buddhist pilgrimage sites. For Tibetans and followers of Tibetan Buddhism, it is second only to Boudha.”

“We love this little Japanese restaurant set in Restaurant road, Jhamsikhel. Dan Ran has a friendly green garden and serves tasty Japanese home cooking. The sushi here are not the greatest (for best sushi, be sure to go to Kotesu in Lazimpat, inside the Ambassador Hotel) but the bento boxes for lunch are great! ”

Lodging
“Just behind Café Swotha. The Inn Patan is located in a Newari/ Rana house beautifully restored and converted into a b&b. The place is great for the beautiful courtyard where the restaurant is set (cold in winter). Food is okay but not to be compared with Café Swotha’s.”

Outlet Store
“Three famous Fair trade shops located on Kupondole road. Good selections of handicrafts, paper, pashminas, wool items and ceramics. Prices are fixed and quite reasonable. Friendliness of the staff has been lost somewhere along the way but it is still a great shopping option.”
