“Call me old-fashioned (I really don't mind) but I love a pub where you can ask for a gin and tonic without being questioned at length on the exact brand of gin you're looking for and which exotically-flavoured tonic will best compliment your choice. Life is short and this place is an institution. St Leonards for the purist.”

“Take the funicular railway up to East Hill where the views stretch all the way along the coast to Beachy Head. From East Hill, keep walking along the stunning coast path – it’s hard work, with some big hills, but the scenery is more than worth it. You can either stop off at Fairlight Cove (a nudist beach!) – ignoring the ‘No public access’ signs. Or keep walking all the way to Winchelsea. ”

“FISH AND CHIPS - Featured in the GoodFood magazine, apparently the best fish and chips in the South East. Beautiful view from the dining area, the fish and chips is good (but I think it's overrated). ”

“It's got lots of draught beers, and has a really good music scene there: Thursday nights has The Sea Shanty Crowd singing old fishing and Navy 'call and response songs'. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights (starts early on Sundays at 4pm) they have a really high standard of bands from Rock to Folk.”

“A fabulous open space to visit with far reaching views over Hastings and the coastline. The Country Park is accessible by car, or the East Hill Lift ( Funicular) in the Old Town. Plenty of benches dotted around to take in the wonderful view.”
