Parks & Natur in Glasgow

“Classic example of a Victorian park, designed by Sir Joseph Paxton, and which measures 34 hectares (85 acres). Its set on the banks of the River Kelvin, and is (in my opinion) the best park in Glasgow. Depending on time of day / year, you may find joggers, cyclists, students, dog walkers, skaters and barbecuers all using this wonderfully green space, and the Kelvin walkway cuts right through the park. It's just two minutes walk from the flat, past the bars and restaurants in Gibson street, the entrance is opposite Eusebi's deli.”

“Stroll around the gardens and in the summer time you might encounter some of the open air Bard in the Park (Shakesperian plays) performances. The Botanics are on the top of Byres Rd in the West End.”

“The park is Glasgow's largest park and the only "Country Park" within Glasgow. Its extensive woodlands and gardens provide a quiet sanctuary for both visitors and wildlife. The park is rich in rural history formerly being part of the Old Pollok Estate and ancestral home to the Maxwell Family. The historical mansion house is open to visitors and features a tea room and restaurant for refreshments. The park is also home to the world famous Burrell Collection, which contains Scottish and international treasures.”

“My favorite park in Glasgow! It has everything you could need - a beautiful river running through it (with a resident Kingfisher!), a number of different trails depending on what you fancy (sturdy paths/forest walks/nature trails), play park, golf course and graveyard! Beautiful at any time of year.”

“So incredibly peaceful - we've spent a lot of time just aimlessly wandering and enjoying the open spaces, gorgeous trees and the cute cafe hidden towards the back of the park. Perfect for dog walkers who are always respectful and almost always clean up after themselves. Great for a light jog, too! Situated just on the opposite side of the main Kilmarnock Rd - 2 minute walk, 1 minute jog :-)”
