“Very beautiful museum with frescoes by Beato Angelico. It is an antique monastery, so the structure is already very beautiful itself, with cloisters, the cells where the monks used to live, the library. Very beautiful and easy museum for families. No many tourists, no need to book ahead.”

“The Centro per l'Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci is the first Italian institution which has been built from scratch to present, collect, document and promote the most advanced artistic research. “The Brancacci Chapel (in Italian, "Cappella dei Brancacci") is a chapel in the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine in Florence, central Italy. It is sometimes called the "Sistine Chapel of the early Renaissance" for its painting cycle, among the most famous and influential of the period. Construction of the chapel was commissioned by Felice Brancacci and begun in 1386. Public access is currently gained via the neighbouring convent, designed by Brunelleschi. The church and the chapel are treated as separate places to visit and as such have different opening times and it is quite difficult to see the rest of the church from the chapel. ”

“www.museodeltessuto.it 01. BOILER ROOM The Museum itinerary commences in the old boiler room, which is almost entirely occupied by the steam generator responsible for powering the machinery in the Campolmi textile mill before the introduction of electricity. The first steam plant within the factory dates back to 1892, but the room took on its current appearance in 1925, with the most recent adjustment made during the 1950s for the conversion to diesel fuel instead of coal. The boiler demonstrates just how complex power distribution systems were in factories in the late nineteenth century. HISTORICAL TEXTILES ROOM ”

“Un percorso diverso dal consueto, infatti si visita una parte della città che non si vede, al di sotto del manto stradale; un percorso che si sviluppa per ca. 700 metri dove si potranno ammirare testimonianze architettoniche (che non vi svelo per lasciare a Voi la scoperta!!!) Importante: percorso adatto ai disabili e attrezzato per i non vedenti con pannelli tattili.”
