“This bar / restaurant is located on Boscombe Beach and again is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a slightly more up-market restaurant upstairs which serves great food and has fantastic views or downstairs you can sit and just have drink or have something from the bar menu. Dogs are welcome here, but only downstairs.”

“Messums is a thriving art gallery in the middle of nowhere based around the longest thatched tithe barn in England (which is worth seeing in itself). It is a vibrant hub with ever-changing art displays, talks, events and a great cafe for drinks or lunch and is free to explore.”

“Located in Southbourne, roughly 5 min drive and 20-25 min walk from the Annexe. Friendly atmosphere which attracts mainly families and relaxed eating. They do drinks/cocktails etc but generally speaking people go here for brunch/lunch/early evening snack foods”

“Barton On Sea is just inside Hampshire at the border with Dorset. The next village is Highcliffe and not far from the village, on the road to Christchurch, is Highcliffe Castle. Quite an interesting history, once belonged to the Selfridge family of Oxford Street dept store fame. It’s actually ‘artificial’ in a way as it’s made up of parts of medieval castles shipped to the beach below from France. There’s a ‘zig-zag’ path down the cliff to a lovely beach.”
