Parks & Natur in Cambridge

“Located in the heart of downtown, Boston Common is an essential attraction for all visitors and travelers coming to Boston. Boston's financial district, downtown Crossing, Newbury Street, Copley Place, Public Garden, and many more major attractions are within walking distance. Boston Common used to be a huge grazing area for livestock in the 19th century and now turned into a common space that serves as a park and hosts multiple festivals, events throughout the year. There are various food trucks/vendors near the Park Street stop and various monuments scattered across the Commons. In the winter, the Frog Pond within the Commons transforms into an outdoor skating rink; during the summer the Frog Pond carousel is open to kids along with a nearby playground. ”

“Right next to the Boston Commons, the Public Garden is a popular tourist attraction especially during the spring and summer seasons. In the middle of the garden is a huge pond where tourists have the option of riding Swan boats that take you around for a short, relaxing ride. The garden is well-decorated and maintained with beautiful flowers and a common place for people to picnic, take a stroll, walk their dogs, & take photos. Although substantially smaller than New York's Central Park, the Public Garden is a great place to check out!”

“Rent a canoe, kayak, or standup paddleboard and get some exercise while taking in beautiful views of Boston and Cambridge. Extremely popular in the summer. Reopens for the season on 5/4/19. Counterintuitively, go to the Boston location to be closer to views of Cambridge/Harvard, and to the Cambridge location to be closer to views of downtown Boston.”
