“This spectacular glass-covered window was built in 1891 during the most prosperous period in Bucharest - at the Belle Époque (Beautiful Epoque). The passage recalls the bohemian style and was built to encourage street-level commerce. In other words, it was the first mall in Bucharest. Today, the passage hosts a variety of bars and restaurants.”

“The famous 19th century water tower. Beware the boring and minimal museum inside-- only true firefighting history buffs might enjoy it. If the top floor balcony is open for visitors (it often is not), then the view is worth the price of admission!”
