“The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is an art museum in Boston, Massachusetts, which houses significant examples of European, Asian, and American art. Its collection includes paintings, sculpture, tapestries, and decorative arts. It is originally the home of Isabella Stewart Gardner, whose will called for her art collection be permanently exhibited "for the education and enjoyment of the public forever". An auxiliary wing, adjacent to the original structure near the Back Bay Fens, was completed in 2012.[2][3] In 1990, thirteen of the museum's works were stolen; the crime remains unsolved and the works have not been recovered.”

“The Harvard Art Museum is not the size of the Museum of Fine Arts or Gardner Museum in Boston (both of which are amazing), but has a very impressive collection, is housed in a gorgeous, recently gut-renovated building, and is large enough that you undoubtedly will be unable to see the whole thing in one visit. There is also currently (through July 28) a special exhibit called The Bauhaus and Harvard that is quite good and showcases the University’s Bauhaus collection, which is the largest in the world outside of Germany.”

“As the memory and educational voice of USS Constitution, the USS Constitution Museum preserves, displays, and interprets artifacts and archival material related to the Ship and her crew through interactive exhibitions, compelling programs, and engaging outreach initiatives. The Museum was incorporated in 1972 as a private, non-profit and non-government funded interpretive complement to USS Constitution, an active-duty US Navy vessel and the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world. This allowed the Navy to clear Constitution’s decks of display cases so that visitors could see the Ship as a sailing vessel, rather than as a floating museum, and for artifacts to be cared for in proper environmental conditions.”

“Housed in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology museum in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a permanent collection of wondrous and playful machines from MIT’s former artist in residence, Arthur Ganson. Some of Ganson’s wonderful machines bounce endlessly, others oil themselves, others perform mysterious tasks without explanation. Of particular interest is the sculpture in which a tiny wishbone must, Sisyphus-like, forever drag an enormous machine around behind him. Know Before You Go The main building of the MIT Museum is located at 265 Massachusetts Ave. near Central Square and the MIT Campus. There are other changing exhibits at in nearby buildings.”
