“The Newnes Hotel is the last standing building from the former shale mining town, though it was not initially on the site believe it or not the whole pub got moved! The drive to the Hotel takes you through the stunning Wolgan Valley with some of the best scenery in the Blue Mountains region and hundreds of kangaroos (take care driving!). Newnes boasts many historic ruins and walks and adventures for avid bushwalkers and canyoners. Highly recommended for photography. please do not take your dog - National Park area!”
