Parks & Natur in Big Bear Lake

Ski Area
“Snow Summit is not only great in the winter for skiing and snowboarding but has activities on location throughout the year. They do outdoor movies, have events onsite, and have areas to bike and hike. During the summer the Sky Chair will take you to the top to hike or mountain bike during the summer (2 free kids per paying adult-check website as this could change). ”

“Our favorite trail but a little further away. Parking next to the Big Bear Discovery Center. Trail is an out and back well marked trail that is quite popular. You will have fantastic views of Big Bear lake and many photo ops.”

“A nice escape, I think it's probably less-trafficked because it's on the North Shore (away from the main crowds) and a bit away from the Discovery Center”

“ This will eventually bring you to the awesome Grand Viewpoint. You’ll begin your trek at the Aspen Glen Picnic Area, so plan ahead for snacks. Note that this 6.1-mile trail is considered moderately difficult, but many families find it very enjoyable! ”

“Great loop trail a short drive from the house. Great when you have a hour or two to spare. Don't forget your Adventure Pass for parking.”

“The Woodland Interpretive Trail is an easy-to-moderate 1.5 mile hike that is a 'loop'. You'll take in beautiful views of the lake and mountains as you make your way through the trail. There is a handout you can take with you at the start of the trail that explains the flora & fauna along the way, marked with number markers. There's also a picnic table in the parking area or across the street, right on the lake.”
