Park
“ This is a hidden park known only to locals who fish, but is open to the public! Minutes away from Phinizy Swamp and beautiful spots to explore! Hidden in the back woods behind Augusta's domestic airport, the New Savannah River Lock and Dam is a favorite fishing spot for locals. Drive through the entrance to the park and you'll find a large selection of pavilions, fishing areas, a boat ramp, and even fish cleaning stations! Put your pole into any one of the hundreds of rod holders and enjoy the roaring sound of the dam! ”

Wanderweg
“Great for hikes anytime of the day. Just down the road from Harlem and Grovetown. Trail has several loops so you can go for a short 30 minute hike or a longer one if you wish. Some pretty views as well. Free to the public dawn to dusk.”

“It's a bit of a hike, but this is my favorite place to be on a warm Spring or Summer day. Have a picnic and wade in the shallows on the West bank of the Savannah River.”
