“The MAS is a huge museum with over 10 floors of exhibitions areas. You can always enter the building for free until 00.00 (apr-nov) and 22.00 (nov-mar) and get a 360° panoramic view of Antwerp on the rooftop. The design of the building is also one of the crazy architectural challenges Antwerp is experimenting with since the past decade. Around the MAS there are many restaurants and bars you can go to. The areas around the MAS are upcoming are getting really popular. You won’t miss the Yachts embarked there either ”

“The Red Star Line used to be a shipping line between Antwerp & New-York. It operated in the years 1871-1935 and carried about 2 million people to the land of opportunity. About a quarter of which were Jews driven out by Nazi Germany. Among them were a few famous people like Albert Einstein. The museum tells a story about the line itself and the passengers it carried.”

Historische Stätte
“A secret passage dating back from 1591 in the midst of the historic center! Walk through the gate at Oude Koornmarkt 16 and you'll feel as if you have journeyed back in time. In the past this alley was where the shoemakers and the poorest people in the city lived. The shoemakers were also in charge of sounding the alarm bell of the cathedral. These days you can find antiques stores and art galleries here as well as the exclusive restaurant Sir Anthony Van Dyck. This guy saved this hidden gem from extinction in the sixties when there where plans to demolish it and make it a parking! The atmosphere is very intimate which is why many people like to come here to listen to the carillon concerts during the summertime.”

“This is my favorite little street, the smallest in town. If you manage to find it, you feel in the middle ages for a moment. If you're lucky you can listen to the 'beiaard', the cathedral bells heavily echoing through the allley. Try to find your way out through another gate than the one you came through.”

“This is one of the oldest (1591) best preserved little streets in Antwerp. There is also a cosy restaurant where you can just walk through. The cosyness and cuteness of these little street are worth the pictures. ”
