Die Unterkunft
You won't find anywhere like this! This is a poet craftsman's house. Rambling and full of beautiful, wild and sometimes crazy features in every corner. A huge Moroccan sofa and several other features give a spacious luxurious eastern opulence that contrasts with rustic simplicity to the main room. Please take care to read our full listing including all our extra details, as this place is unique, and amenities may not be where you expect them, and we may not have all the modern gadgets you are used to.. If it is not mentioned on the amenity check list then it's not available. Please check with us if there is any thing specific you require.

Zugang für Gäste
To entertain, party or relax there is a really large “L”shaped downstairs room with a real wow factor. Fully centrally heated as well as an open fireplace and two wood burners for extra warmth and character. Can be separated into 2 cosier separate areas with plush curtains.

A hand carved staircase leads to a medley of small dinky thoughtful rooms, and four larger rooms. These bedrooms feature all kinds of old stone and almost elven design motifs. One is used mostly as a shared sleeping space for six or eight. The house can take large groups if guests are willing to use foam mattress on the floor type beds, as well as the giant wall-to-wall morroccan sofa downstairs.

Bedrooms: One Master king-size bedroom with two very small rooms leading off, used mainly for children. Two more double bedrooms.
One small single/double bedroom.
A spacious balcony sleeping space with floor double-mattress.
One large shared sleeping room with two double beds, two single beds and any number of extra foams available for extra guests.
Large morrocan sofa downstairs which can be curtained off as a sleeping area for 2 -4.

Bright conservatory kitchen overlooking garden with facilities for catering for big groups. Large dining table in main room to which another table can be added . Table and breakfast bar in kitchen. Gas stove with 5 rings, plus 1 extra large gas burner for catering size pots. Electric oven. Microwave and small dishwasher. Coffee maker, toaster, water filters, electric kettles, fridge/ freezer, big size pots and pans, usually a fair selection of spices herbs etc.

Two toilets in main house. (Upstairs and downstairs) Upstairs has a shower.

Across the drive there is a wood fired sauna which you are welcome to use. The sauna room also has two extra (and more powerful) showers. And two extra toilets .... all of which you may use but please not note these extra showers / toilets are sometimes shared with other guests or people living staying in our garden / farm / compound. All facilities in the main house are exclusively yours.

Surroundings: Plenty of parking.
Sundecking with table and chairs. Wild and rambling gardens surround the house, with lawns and hidden places amongst the trees. There are friendly cats living around the gardens, and friendly horses in fields.
The house is in the corner of a 40 acre farm. Organic produce is available fresh from the farm just past our gardens if you place an order in advance. Let us know and we will put you in touch.

Important: Small children should not be left to wander unsupervised outside, or allowed into any of the ramshackle sheds, as there may be tools, building materials around.

There are also more bedrooms/meeting space/ sunny yoga room, which are pictured but not included. Ask us about using this extra space if you have a larger group or wish to hold a yoga or meditation retreat/workshop.

For bigger or smaller groups contact us to negotiate a price.
For special events we can provide a cook and meals etc
For special suppers or breakfasts we can usually arrange a talented and friendly chef. Let us know.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
If you like wild and ancient places to get together, with nomadic opulence, then this place is for you. Shivam has built and extended upon the ancient family homestead and turned it into into an opulent unique fairytale dream. Everything you see inside is handmade, by Shivam, from local and natural wood and stone, adorned with himalayan antiques, furniture, and tibetan artifacts, and a vast library of books and records.

Although it is lavishly built, and adorned, and the living spaces and bedrooms are always thoroughly cleaned, please understand that this is an ancient cottage in the middle of the countryside with rustic charm. It is made of natural unfinished wood and beams, with plenty of intricate nooks and crannies which means no matter how much we clean there will always be a bit of dust, and a cobweb or two in very far to reach places!

NOT the place to come for allergic people. Or clean-aphobics who will complain when they go exploring and find an ancient dusty corner.

Please leave behind expectations of a modern, highly sanitised city dwelling, hermetically sealed from living nature. You will be disappointed. Here there are no perfectly manicured gardens, matching crockery, bright flourescent lights, or spotless shiny glass and metal counter tops! It’s wood and stone with an archaic feel. The garden runs wild at the edges, and we leave uncut and I trimmed whole areas for the birds to nest and the wild to have a home too!

It may take you a little time to discover all the charms of this unique and cosy house, and if you accept all these conditions and quirks you will likely fall in love with it.

Not suitable for very young children to go rambling far on their own outside, although our surrounding fields are suitable for accompanied adventures. You are welcome to ramble the fields and surrounds, but please stay out of sheds or old ruins on the estate. We cannot guarantee your safety as there may be tools, machinery or unsafe structures inside.

Large groups are welcome but we charge a little extra for groups over 12. The charge for numbers over 12 is €19 per person per night. We have accommodated over 25 with extra foams on the floor etc. !! There are also more bedrooms/meeting space/ sunny yoga room. Ask us about using this extra space if you have a larger group or wish to hold a yoga or meditation retreat/workshop.

A member of our family will be nearby or living in a corner of the compound. We have lived on this farm for 500 years. As this is a family run house, not a hotel facility; after welcoming you and showing you around, we will leave you to enjoy the facilities during your stay, and although at times Shivam may be around to chat, there may also be times with no 'manager' on site!
Someone nearby is always available to call with any queries or problems and to come out 24/7 should there be any emergencies!
There are also 2 residents living in an annexe to the house, and other residents living across the drive. They may be able to help out if you are getting lost. Please respect their personal privacy.

There is Fuinseog Farm, an organic vegetable farm with chickens, further down the land. You are welcome to buy supplies from Aitor there. but please do not disturb him otherwise or wander in the vegetable farm, as it is a busy private working farm. All the surrounding land until you reach stone walls belongs to Shivam, and you are welcome to explore there in nature, as well as say hello to the friendly horses that may be on our land on both sides of the road.
