Enjoy the magic of the redwoods and the beauty of the Russian River in our rustic hilltop cabin. Come for fresh air, comfort, quiet, charm, simple and beautiful design, and river time.

Die Unterkunft
Per Sonoma’s Shelter-in-Place Ordinance, updated on May 1, we are open to offering our space for essential travel, and to people who are in need of a place to shelter during the pandemic, and to residents of Sonoma County who need shelter. Please inquire with your needs. Thank you and stay safe!

“Camp Noon" was built over 100 years ago. We fell in love at first sight and have spent the last few years restoring it to preserve its historic features and renovating for some modern comforts and design. Unlike your typical Russian River getaway, our property is in a clearing so we have lots of sun overhead. We named it Camp Noon to evoke summer days when the sun is high and there's plenty of time. It's a gem!

The cabin is a work in progress, with a blend of new features: a Scandinavian wood burning stove, skylights, Heath tile in the bathroom, brand new beds and bedding (as of May 2019), and older features like the raw redwood floors, board and batten paneling, 50s formica countertops and a huge claw foot tub. Please note that the cabin is very old — single-wall construction, gaps in the floorboards (which are creaky!), thin glass windows— our guests should expect a rustic experience.

The front room of the house is a large, open space, with cathedral ceilings, and three skylights that illuminate the house during the day and allow for stargazing at night. The wood burning stove warms up the room in the winter time, and you'll find plenty of places to curl up and relax. We have a record player, records, books, and games to keep you entertained.

The cabin has two bedrooms, each one with a brand new queen-size bed and frame, purchased in May 2019. There's room for more in the living room — we have a daybed couch and two twin beds. Each bedroom has soft linens and cozy blankets and we provide extra bedding for the living room when hosting more than 4 guests.

The bathroom has a large beautiful claw foot tub and newly installed Heath tiles.

The kitchen is a wonderful place for everyone to congregate, with three large picture windows that look out onto the redwoods. Enjoy lively meals at the large farm table. We have an electric stove, a brand new refrigerator, a coffee maker, and a toaster oven. We also stock all of the regular kitchen tools (pots, pans, knives, cutting board, spatulas, etc).

The back yard is great for BBQ's. We have fairy lights set up in the back, perfect lighting for an evening outside.

The front porch is the crown jewel. Swing on the hammock, sip morning coffee, read on the couch, and listen to the crickets on summer nights. The porch has a treehouse feel. We also have stacks of fluffy blankets to curl up with if it's cold out.

The cabin is fully stocked with eco-friendly, good-smelling shampoo, soaps, dish soap, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, spare light bulbs, q-tips, trash bags, and sponges.

The bath towels are soft and new and 100% cotton. Please bring your own beach towels.

The summer days can range in temperature from 75-100 degrees, with nights much cooler, in the 50s and 60s. While the beach in Summerhome Park is exclusive (members-only), there are 3 public beaches within a mile of the cabin: Mother's Beach, Steelhead Beach, and Sunset Beach. We provide a 1-person kayak for our guests. You are welcome to eat and drink at The Lodge on the river.

The Russian River is magical in the fall. The crowds thin and it's very peaceful. The morning fog is fresh and the forest is quiet. The river is still navigable by canoe through October and during the week you might have the whole stretch of it to yourselves. The nights are cooler — perfect for building a fire in the wood burning stove, with the firewood we provide.

The forest air is fresh and rejuvenating, the neighborhood is quiet, and the river is still wild from winter. You probably won't be able to swim in the river until the early summer, but it can still be enjoyed from the shore. You are welcome to eat and drink at The Lodge on the river.

The beach! Camp Noon is just a 5 minute drive to Mother's Beach, a bit further to Sunset Beach, and about 20 mins to Steelhead

Disclaimer: The place is a hundred years old and the renovation is still a work-in-progress, so there are still some quirks and rough edges:
The wood floors are raw and have been through a lot, some of the windows stick, and the kitchen floor has original laminate from the 40s. If things like that sound like "rustic charm," this house is for you, if they sound like offensive hazards, probably not. The cabin isn’t necessarily kid-friendly but many families have made it work by being vigilant with little ones.

Zugang für Gäste
This is important: Access to the cabin is down a narrow road that's at times one-lane, sometimes steep, and very dark at night. We do not recommend coming into Summerhome Park with a suburban or equally large vehicle. If you are intimidated by windy or steep country roads, this cabin is not for you. Please let us know ahead of time if you will need to park two or more cars.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
***We supply firewood and kindling. You may want to bring newspaper to get your fire going. *** You may only burn pre-seasoned hardwood in the stove, unfortunately you can't burn foraged logs and sticks, even though that sounds like it would make sense and be fun.

The beautiful Turkish rugs are family heirlooms and not only are they very dear to us, they are also valuable. Please take very good care of them. If something happened to one of them we would be heartbroken.

We are also happy to accommodate special check-in and check-out times when we can. If you haven't arranged a special check-in or check-out, please stick with the times. We have to charge if you stay late without prior arrangement -- we have to pay the cleaner to wait for you to leave.

Kitchen pantry items we stock: Salt, pepper, olive oil, coffee filters. Sometimes guests leave behind other spices, cooking oil, sugar, teas, coffee.

We do not have a TV hook up. Cell service can be spotty, depending on your service provider. AT&T works.

In the summertime: The private club that owns the beach and the amphitheater in Summerhome Park voted to be exclusive, meaning no vacation renters are allowed to access the beach or amphitheater or any activities or events they are hosting. Please do not visit them during your stay. Thanks for respecting the club's exclusivity!

Although Sonoma County has grown up around it, this neighborhood is tucked into the woods, with a nostalgic summer-camp feeling. The weekdays and the off season are very peaceful.

We are two dear friends, Lauren and Aylin, who bought a cabin together as a testament to our love of the redwoods and our desire to create a beautiful living space together. Fixing up the cabin has been an amazing process for us, and we've invested a ton of energy and time (and sweat and tears and laughs) to create our vision of a relaxing retreat that blends vintage and modern design. We love traveling and visiting special homes and want to offer responsive, intuitive, and warm hospitality to others. We are easy-going and want our guests to have a good time, but we also expect that they respect the cabin and how important it is to us.
