Do you want to spend your holiday in a house on the beach with miles of sandy beach, turquoise sea, palm trees and exotic birds?
In that case you are welcome to rent our house "Casa de Piedra" in Mexico, Chuburna located on the Yucatan Peninsula.
Lots of things to do, culture (Mayaindians). Cenotes, divning and many other thing.

Die Unterkunft
Chuburna
- is a small and quiet fishing village situated at the Gulf of Mexico. There are small shops to buy the essentials in and some restaurants serving fresh seafood, grilled chicken and more. There are two small churches and a school.
Our house - Casa de Piedra
- is privately situated right at the beach with breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico where you can sometimes see wild dolphins playing.
We have recently renovated the house both inside and out in authentic Mexican style and installed AC.
The house has a beautiful large, well-equipped kitchen with dining area for 12 people, 3 spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, one with large double shower, and a living room with two potential sleepers.
Outside there is a lovely pool area with plenty of space for socializing, both in the sun and in the shade. Completely private. There are wide sunbeds, beach chairs and hammocks to relax in. Outside the kitchen, there is a terrace with a roof. Here you can have breakfast and watch the fishing boats return from their tours, sometimes the dolphin is on a visit as well. Or sit and watch a spectacular sunset in the Gulf.
If you get tired of lying by the pool, in a hammock or looking at the view there ocean is about 10 steps away ... To take a stroll along the sea and pick the most amazing shells are part of everyday life here in Chuburna. If you get hungry it is a good idea to pop into one of the small restaurants or stop by "the chicken lady" who grills the most amazing chickens up at the square.

In Yucatan
- is the criminality very low, Merida has not had a drug-related murder for more than 10 years. People are very friendly and speak Spanish, few speak English. Possible hurricane season with lots of rain can appear in August/September.
Chuburna and the neighboring village CHELEM has many small fish restaurants where it is cheap to eat. A meal consisting of fresh fish or seafood and a beer do not cost more than 60 pesos per person. For those who want to cook at home, there are well-stocked supermarkets in Progresso and Merida where you can find everything you need. In Progresso, about 15 minutes by car from the house is the closest and there are two Walmart on the way to Merida about 20 minutes away by car. Shuttle to Progreso run regularly from all the small villages along the coast.
Welcome to rent our house in Mexico, Casa de Piedra

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
A big welcome's to our paradise in Chuburna puerto.

Osbaldo is our property manager and he has the keys and he will meet you and show you the house when you arrive.

Osbaldo speaks very good English and Spanish. He lives in Chelem with his wife and 3 daughters, 10 minutes by car from Chuburna.

Please also note for the environmental and economical reason please use air-condition ONLY with closed doors. Please use it only when it's necessary - we call it "responsible use". And in total that's up to 30 kW per day = 210 kW per week.

Tips regarding the air conditioners and how to manage to be an environmental Hero :-)

- During the daytime, let open doors and the sea breeze cool the house.
- Don’t use the AC in the daytime if not absolutely necessary.
- At night, about 30 min before going to bed run the AC’s to cool the house down. Remember to have all doors and windows closed, if not the AC won't do the work!
- Please only use the AC’s in the bedrooms when necessary during the night. And remember to shut them off in the morning.
- By using the air conditioning in this way, we save electricity and take care of the environment, and you will use a maximum of 210 kW per week.

-We have a water heater so that you can have hot water. But in order to save electricity, we have installed a timer that is ON between 7 am - 9 am and 6 pm - 8 pm. But the "normal/cold" water in this area is 26 C/79 F at the lowest during wintertime.

We will charge 5 pesos from the Deposit per kW over 210 kW.

Osbaldo will show you the meter the day you arrive and the day you leave.

Chuburna is a small fishing village with simple conditions. Infrastructures such as electricity and water hold Mexican village standard. This can sometimes cause shorter power outages or stops of water supplies. We are always present with our property manager, but you should be aware that sometimes it may take some time.

Also, Note That apparently, they have started to build house right next to ours. Noone of the guests that have stayed in the house has let us know that they have been bothered by noise from the construction. But we decided to inform all the guest including.

Lage

Chuburná Puerto, Yucatán, Mexiko

Chuburna

- is a small and quiet fishing village situated at the Gulf of Mexico. There are small stores to buy the essentials in and some restaurants serving fresh seafood, grilled chicken and more.

A fantastic area to wind down, enjoy the warmth, swim in the beautiful sea or go for long walks along the beach.

The coastline from Porgreso to Chuburna is completely untouched and you see very little to tourists and commerce.

In Chuburna there are two small churches and a school, and if you are lucky you may see the schoolchildren preform with dancing and music in the square. No time to celebrate is wasted in Mexico.

Progreso

- is our nearest town and is 20 minutes drive from our house. The city is still very Mexican and have a long nice esplanade with lots of shopping and restaurants. Two times a week the cruise ships arrive to Progresso and during these days the town is filled with Mexican handicrafts sold from small stands both in the village and along the boardwalk.

You'll also find small shops where you can buy everything from food and vegetables to shoes, necklaces and Mexican handicrafts and at cheap prices.
Merida

-is a city we love. It is the capital of the Mexican state of Yucatan and the largest city of the Yucatan Penisula. The city has Mayan, French and British influences. Here you will find both shopping, great restaurants and classic handmade products from the Mexican countryside.

There are often concerts and acting at the streets, please visit Yucuatantoday for more information.
