If you absolutely have to get away from things in to an open space this could be ideal for health and safety and is peaceful and calm setting in rural tranquility, Food deliveries can be arranged and wifi and internet as well as Sky TV, If you want that isolated feel with open space this could be ideal for you. Long term bookings catered for.

The house is set within secluded garden grounds of over five acres with a beautiful secluded front garden and plenty of freedom and open space yet only 1.3 miles outwith the village of Oldmeldrum close to shops, pubs, restaurants and Glen Garioch distillery.

The house can be let as a three or four bedroom house depending upon your requirements so please email me and discuss your actual needs. It can take up to 10 persons as one room functions as a family room and can have four beds in use if required.
Located less than a mile from the world famous Meldrum House Hotel and golf course this makes an ideal wedding venue or base for golfers wanting to sample courses such as Meldrum House, Trump International links Golf Course and Royal Aberdeen to name but three out of 50 golf courses close by.
The house is only 3 miles from the Barn at Barra Castle wedding and function suite and taxis to and from these venues can be easily organised by local taxi companies.

The house has a large family farmhouse style kitchen with seating for 8 - 10 people in comfort. With patio doors of the lounge giving access to alfresco dining for those wonderful summer evenings having a BBQ and a glass of wine.
There is a relaxed homely atmosphere to the home and gardens with more than enough freedom and space for all visitors. There are two shower rooms and an ensuite toilet ensuring that the traditional feel of an old farmhouse is not lost but catering for needs of todays discerning travellers.
All bedrroms have double beds with King size bed in the traditional Master bedroom.
A whisky and Scottish reading room have been created and you can sample some of Scotlands great Malts whilst reading all about their history and production These may be moved to garage but still available just not such a nice view for a workout

Photographs show the condition to the rear of the property.Short term discount price as some demolition works have been conducted to the rear of the property removing old barns and outhouses.

The house can be let as a three or four bedroom house depending upon your requirements so please email me and discuss your actual needs. If rented as a three bedroom house the downstairs bedroom four will be closed off to guests removing access to the ensuite toilet in that room.
I only do this to accommodate guests looking for a smaller house to rent.
You will have access to first and second floor of the house with the attick retained as an office and storeage area which is not utilised during your stay and closed off.
You have full access to the gardens, any fruit and vegtables growing in the gardens can be freely enjoyed. There are nice woodland walks for berry picking as well as sloe berry trees for later in the year. There are ample logs for the wood burner in the lounge and the outside fire pit. Please do not light fires elswhere.
There is a 3 mile run around the roads surrounding the farmhouse.
Grass and gardens will be maintained during your stay so please tollerate any noise.

You must be free from any COVID-19 symptoms and have the facility to return home if the region comes under stricter isolation conditions. Rental will be payable from date of arrival until departure irrespective of any extenuating circumstances

The farm building have been mostly demolished to the rear of the property and guests are requested to stay away from the rear of the property and demolished stones. A new garage and apartment have been built to the side of the property and guest should note that landscaping is being finalised in this area.

Renter should contact me before booking to ensure they are happy with the status of any works before booking. I will give you an accurate update on any works and send photos as requested. No building will be taking place during your stay.

With such access to the outside areas please remember to store wet shoes etc at the back door or in the garage, they will also dry in the boiler cupboard.
There are DVD,s, sky TV and surround sound available. There is internet connection but not super broadband speed yet as we are in the country the speed of the connection will be impacted by the number of devices attached. As the farmhouse is built of extremely thick walls then I have provided wireless plug extenders and electric network adapters to improve internet connection as much as possible.
Mobile phone signal can be weak but you should always get at least three bars.
I live in the new apartment above the new garage but guests have privacy and full use of the gardens to the front of the property.

Oldmeldrum has around 2500 people living in and around. There are many towns and villages nearby as well as being very close to the coast and numerous golf courses, castles, winter skiing, hill walking, Bennachie is only around 14 miles away. Aberdeen is 40 minute drive and inverness a little over an hour away. This is an excellent place to make your base for a few days or weeks and anyjoy our whiskey distilleries and wonderful north east hospitality. There are fine dining restaurants as well as take aways and pub grub close by.
