Hello there!
I was born in Ipoh, Perak but have lived in Cameron Highlands since early school days until college. Just like you, I love traveling and I have been exploring places for the past 8 years on part-time basis (due to limited work leave). I first got the travel bug when I pursue my tertiary studies in Australia back in 2006. I am forever looking to explore new places and experience interesting things around the world.
Some of the best experiences
1. I witnessed the sun rising atop Borobudur temple (seriously wow! The sky was purple in colour)
2. I did my first white-water rafting in Sri Lanka (woohoo best!)
3. I swam in the Emerald Pond in Thailand (so cooling I didn’t want to get out from the pond lol)
4. I skydived along the Great Ocean Road (14,000ft. I wouldn’t do it again though haha! I am still hoping to walk atop of Sydney Harbour Bridge)
5. I love vintage goods, food & coffee. Melbourne is the place to be!
6. I had the BEST Kebab Rice in New York (So HEAVENLY spicy!)
7. I slept with rats on a night train in India (It was incredible, I tell you!)
8. I belly-danced in Dubai. LOL. No I won’t be doing it again. Never again!
9. My first left-handed drive experience was in Korea. I drove onto a highway in the wrong direction LOL. Thank goodness I am still alive today.
10. I hiked Hong Kong’s Mount Butler (HK’s Best kept secret in my opinion)
11. I survived minus 15 degrees Celsius temperature in Northern Japan. I love it!
12. I soaked in Turkey’s Travertines. AMAZING!
13. I walked the rim of an active Volcano in East Java Indonesia. The rumbling sound coming out from the cinder cone was really frightening!)
14. I hiked down into the base of Ijen Volcano to watch the dying blue flames. (Very nice). The same place where I just stared at the milky way for hours.
15. New Zealand was the most scenic country I ever been! Some say Switzerland is comparable, I must go and see it myself one day then.
16. I have never driven on ice roads. It really frightens me even with just imagination. Scary shit. But I tried it, it was actually fine. I've tried driving with a constant speed of 100km/h. Perfectly safe and nice to drive. Done that in the Finnish Lapland & Swedish Lapland;)
17. SERIOUSLY, the Northern Lights are AMAZING! I have seen them dancing in the sky for a good 20 minute! Unforgettable. It happened in the Swedish Lapland.
18. 不登长城非好汉 - Me? 登 already, now a 好汉 lol. - The Great Wall of China
19. Other than the above, there were all binge eating activities haha… I liked the street food in Korea, Taiwan and those road side stalls in Thailand & Vietnam.
20. Finally visited Cambodia for the first time in 2019. The Khmer dishes were yummy, my type of food!
21. Finally did my first SOLO trip to Fukuoka, Japan right before the Covid-19 Pandemic. SOLO trip really wasn't for me. Thank goodness my old friend flew from Melbourne to join me on the 2nd week of the trip xD
22. Did the sand dune adventure near the Inland SEA in Qatar & Saudi Arabia. Love love love!
23. Coming up next! I’ll be visiting South Africa & Namibia! (Flight tickets burned thanks to the unprecedented lockdowns across the globe).
24. As of May 2022, I am still looking for flights to reinstate my plans to visit South Africa, Namibia, Morocco or Copenhagen.
Did I not mention Malaysia? You have to come to my country! Everything is amazing here for you to explore ;)
I can speak English, Mandarin, Cantonese and of course, our national language Bahasa Malaysia. Come learn more about the life of a local Cameronian. Hosting you soon!
Cheers
