PS If you are wondering why some of the reviews mention Nick and Jayne, it's because they used to live here! Jayne is my sister, and I have now taken over managing our family's home.
There is a cat who lives in the upstairs suite, who wanders around, his name is Charlie.
We ask that our guests treat our property as they would treat their own. No other pets, no parties and no smoking please.
Marlee and Charlie
With my family we stayed for two weeks in Marlee's apartment. The first thing we noticed when going around in the place is the astonishing view from the living room! Although the kitchen also has a table to eat, we preferred sitting in the living room, looking at the ocean and mountains. The house is well equipped; it has a nice stove, a big fridge, a dish washer, a washing machine and dryer. The WiFi worked perfectly! We had three sleeping rooms, with in all of them double beds. The house is well situated, being close to the city center, a nice park and shops for groceries.
Although we didn't have the pleasure to meet Marlee in person, she was very quickly in replying to questions and very helpful. We really liked the Christmas touch she gave the house. She was so kind to find another place for her cat, as one of our family is allergic to them. The house still smelled a bit like cats, but this was gone after a couple of days.
We think the house suits best with smaller groups than ours. Five adults are a bit too much, as the apartment is not that big. Especially, the shower was kind of tiny for our tall Dutch bodies. We thought the apartment is not super cosy, but has some great assets which makes it a nice place to stay. A good balance between price and quality!
My family and I had a very relaxing four days at this quiet, spacious apartment. The location was perfect for us -- close to Cook St and a short walk to downtown, but quiet and peaceful when we needed to chill out and read a book.
This was our first AirBnb booking so I was a little nervous about how things worked with our hosts. Nick and Jayne were great at communicating when we booked the stay and Nick met us when we arrived to make sure everything was OK. Then he left us to ourselves (but with lots of contact information should we need anything.) Lovely!
With a park and walking trail right across the street, amazing views of the ocean and islands beyond, and funky homes all over the neighbourhood, it was a real treat to go exploring in the evening. We found small shops and even a farmers market that we didn't know existed.
We would certainly stay here again.
We had a wonderful 5 days in Victoria and enjoyed the location and of course, the wonderful views. Everything was very comfortable and worked out really well for our family of four. Thanks for a great stay.
We loved Jayne and Nicks place. The house was newly redone , bright and very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised at the close proximity to the fantastic Cook street shops and restaurants. In fact we easily walked to the ferry terminal and downtown area WITH our small roll-on bags. The view out to the water is phenomenal and we loved walking along the path and playing with the amazing assortment of friendly canines and their owners. Would definitely stay there again.
