Our home is an older house in an older established safe neighborhood. Over the years it has become a very trendy area with lots of nearby restaurants and cafes. Our home is very easy to get to and from the freeway. It is 3-4 miles from Waikiki. There is a bus stop nearby, lots of restaurants, and Kahala Mall, Times Super Market, Whole Foods and Zippy's.
Casual easy living, quiet and safe older neighborhood.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
If we're not around when you check out please let yourself out, lock the gate and put the keys in our mailbox under the palm tree, there's a drop box to drop them into.

No outside visiters allowed. No exceptions. It's a liability issue, and Airbnb does not cover people outside of the reservation.

We have 1 house cat named Pua , and one outdoor cat named Kiki. They are both orange Tabby, but Kiki, the outdoor cat has white "socks". Please don't let him follow you into the house. If he does, please pick him up and put him back outside; he is gentle and will not scratch or bite you.

Trade winds and open windows is the "central air" we use...there is no AC. During the months of July, August and September it can be more hot and humid than usual, especially August and September. So if you prefer AC our rooms are not for you. Cooler months begin the end of November through May/June.

Since we have open windows to keep the rooms cool as possible, I cannot guarantee that you won't hear the neighbors getting up around 7:00am to start their day, and sometimes the mother can be quite loud yelling at the kids :0) not a huge problem, but it happens now and then.

Since we are a tropical climate sometimes large cock roaches may be seen, not a huge problem but on occasion you may meet one, more likely to happen outside in the lanai area.

Vance is an avid surfer, so if you want to surf he can tell you all about the different spots and how to get there.

You may hire us to give you a customized tour to see the island or if you are moving to Oahu and need help finding the right neighborhood.
We will be happy to cook a local style meal if we are available. Cost is $20.00 per person.

Aloha! I'm originally from Dallas, Texas. I moved to Hawaii in 1980 because I was tired of the extreme hot summers and icy winters of Texas, and I was curious what it would be like to live on an island, so I bought a one way ticket to Hawaii and have been here ever since. My husband is a local Korean boy who grew up in Manoa, not far from where we live now. He says it was a good thing I came to Hawaii because he had no intention of ever moving to Texas ; D We got married in 1982. We have 5 adult children and 7 grandchildren, who sometimes stop by for a visit. We both love spending time at the beach; he loves to surf and I love to read, so while he enjoys the waves I enjoy the sun and a good book or a long walk on the beach. My husband refers to our home as his "town beach house", because it is near a variety of beaches, but also near Waikiki and downtown Honolulu, and it is very casual, aged and laid back just like us :0) We thoroughly enjoy sharing our humble home with travelers, and giving tips and suggestions on places to visit, and foods to try. Our home is perfect for travelers who desire to experience living with locals. We've had the privilege of hosting guests who have not only come as tourists, but we have had traveling nurses, med students doing a clinical rotation, others have stayed with us while doing an internship, some for business, some for school, or a convention, others stayed with us while transitioning here for a job, or it may be that you just want to practice your English speaking skills. Whatever reason you are coming to Hawaii you can be sure our home will be a clean, safe and affordable place to call home. We appreciate travelers who are responsible, considerate adults, who are not given to loud conversation, nor loud laughing, especially after 10:00PM and before 8:00AM. We live in an older, quiet neighborhood where most homes do not have central air, so it is very important to respect the neighbors, and our other guests, who may be resting from a long day of travel. If you are this kind of traveler we hope you choose our Airbnb! We look forward to welcoming you to our hale, your home away from home. *\(^_^)/* Please make sure to read our room descriptions and other notes in the details before making a reservation, and message me if you have any qestions, especially in regards to the additional transient and general excise taxes that we will need to collect from you since our government doesn't allow Airbnb to collect them. Mahalo for your consideration!
