Die wichtigsten Stärken des Viertels

sind die unmittelbare Nähe zum Hauptbahnhof und der Haute Ville.
hervorragende Anbindung an das öffentliche Verkehrsnetz

Das Viertel Gare befindet sich im Zentrum der Hauptstadt.

Der Bezirk entwickelte sich sehr schnell nach dem Anschluss an das Eisenbahnnetz Großherzogtums und der Eröffnung des ersten Bahnhofs im Jahr 1859. Hotels, kleine und große Unternehmen befinden sich in der Nähe des Bahnhofs.

Das Ende der luxemburgischen Festung 1867 ermöglichte die Urbanisierung des Bourbon-Plateaus mit dem Bau der Avenue de la Liberté. Nach dem Viadukt aus dem 19. Jahrhundert verbindet die 1903 eingeweihte Adolphe-Brücke das neu erbaute Viertel mit der Stadt Luxemburg. Das heutige Bahnhofsgebäude wurde 1912 fertiggestellt.
