Perfect for two to take a romantic nature retreat! Our glamping tiny guesthouse, though small, blends indoor with outdoor features. The bedroom has vines draped around the bed from the low overhead loft area where is a sitting area with tv. From the bedroom, walk through the French door to the rustic high walled outdoor canopied bathroom with river rock shower & porcelain claw bathtub. Grounds behind the home feature a meadow with free range community sheep/horses + access to forest hiking trails.

Die Unterkunft
Our prime time booking is Winter to late Spring as the meadows are green, the sheep are out on the field more often, the peacock is in full bloom, and the waterfalls are flowing in our seasonal creek. The sounds of the waterfall can be heard from the bedroom (ask when the creek is running). Frogs come out to croak into the twilight.

The garden guest house is a detached mother-in-law house in the backyard behind our main house. The non-smoking guest house is indeed TINY and consists of one 118sf heated and air conditioned bedroom with an attached 100sf high walled outdoor private heated bathroom with garden accessories fixtures, such as our "watering can" showerhead.

Bedroom has a breakfast bar with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and bagel toaster. The bedroom has a full size spring/coil bed along with a cafe table and chairs to enjoy your breakfast. It has a full length mirrored wardrobe closet with iron and ironing board. There is an additional low overhead loft for storage and sitting area.

NO CABLE, but hi speed wifi is available. Internet TV has hundreds of channels.

Private Bathroom has a shower, cast iron claw tub bathtub with electronic fireplace and, of course, toilet.

You may eat your meals either in the privacy of your room or take in the view of our white peacocks with meadow views in the patio lounge area.

Patio lounge has an L shaped sofa with "campy kitchen" details: such as a counter BBQ and outdoor sink. Seating includes a table. Pretty private, but you might see me tending to the birds and garden in early morning or dusk.

There is an access point on our property to explore "raw" nature via the winding sheep and horse paths and oak canopied forests that are behind our property. Deer have been found visiting.

Here are a few interesting things to do in our canyon areas:

1. Go hiking everywhere. O'Niel Park nearby. Visit an ancient Native American Indian camp within a 10 minute hike from our property. See the place where they ground acorns and crafted shafts for arrows.
2. Visit our pets the peacocks and wandering chicken. Psst, they LOVE blueberries!
3. Noteworthy restaurants within walking distance (see more in guidebook).
4. Listen to our seasonal waterfall soothing you in your cabin for those interested in creekside destinations in the Winter through Spring (contact me to see if our creek is running).
5. Listen to packs of coyotes at night or listen to the sheep nearby while enjoying the lounge. We have a frog medley at night Winter through Summer.
6. Go bike riding in O'Neil Regional Park (just down the street).
7. FREE ADMISSION: Bring a picnic and watch a equestrian polo match in Silverado (see guidebook for details).
8. Go horseback riding at Silverado or Irvine Park (see guidebook for details).
9. Bring your dirtbike to ride our local trails
10. Rent a mountain or street bike at The Path within walking distance (see guide for reservations).
11. Hike the Indian camp in Black Star Canyon nearby
12. Hike Holy Jim Canyon and see a tall waterfalls (closed until 2022)
13. Meditate at the Krishna Monastery (closed until further notice).
14. Visit Rancho Las Lomas and take a wildlife tour and see Bengal Tigers, zebras, and more while visiting their wine tasting restaurant (see guidebook for secret deals. Reservations required in advance of your booking).

Old Trabuco Canyon was established as a vacation destination back in the 1920's for it's frog filled streams and as a place to "get away from it all".

Horse back riding is available in Irvine Park which is a 35 minute drive from the guesthouse.

Zugang für Gäste
No access to the main house. Laundry facilities are available in Lake Forest (see map).
Pool and Jacuzzi are solar heated and not heated other times of the year. No nude sunbathing (we are a family here in the main house). Due to insurance reasons, no minors under the age of 13 allowed in the pool unaccompanied by an adult. Children must be able to swim without assistance (i.e. able to swim without the need of floaters or other buoyancy devices). If children are not accompanied by an adult in the pool, the host retains the right to cancel the remainder of the guests stay without compensation the remainder of their trip.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise

This is our private residence, pool hours are 9AM to 9PM. Pool and jacuzzi is solar heated and is cold in non-Summer months. No nude sunbathing. Trabuco Canyon, Kalifornien, Vereinigte Staaten

We do not have dogs or cats (we have a peacocks). This is a rural place in Orange County where horses, llamas, goats and chickens as well as dogs and cats call it home. Our roads are traversed by horse as well as car. We have two restaurants within hiking distance (1/2 mile, and 3/4 mile): Trabuco Oaks steakhouse (don't wear a tie or they will cut it off! Seriously, they have cut off ties EVERYWHERE!) and Rose Canyon Cantina with romantic outdoor stringed lit cafe dining among the oaks and seasonal streams (reminds me of Paris...ahhh). Trabuco Oaks and Rose Canyon Cantina may require reservations on the weekends. Trabuco Oaks steakhouse is noted for serving a former POTUS (President of the United States) which was one of his favorite hangouts......ask me who it is!).

We have lived in our home here for over 20 years and wouldn't want to live anywhere else! I married my husband, Brian, 17 years ago and he has lived here 27 years. We were married in the old little church on the hill in 2001. I got the idea of white peacocks because our reception was in our backyard and I wore a white wedding gown. I guess the peacocks remind me of that lovely day. Other interests of mine include collecting music instruments. Although I am not a player (at all) of music instruments, if you are in the market for a particular guitar, violin, sax or other instrument, I just might have the one you are looking for! My husband is into motorcycle riding on the weekends. Sometimes its dirtbike riding, other times we bundle up in the "family car", or sidecar. Sidecars are motorcycles with a compartment on the side and are more popular in Europe and other parts of the world. You don't see many here in Southern California. It is a romantic way to spend an hour or so on our verdant canyon roads.
