1886 De-constructed: This unique 2-1 apartment is spread across the entire 2nd floor of a historic downtown Ballinger building. Recently remodeled from 1950's era offices into a beautiful living space boasting 14' ceilings, gorgeous original windows, and over 3k sqft of living space. The stone and shiplap walls have been uncovered and are on full display after being hidden for over 130 yrs. A variety of locally owned boutiques, antique stores, and restaurants are just steps away.

Die Unterkunft
We are excited to share this unique space with you. It is our home away from home and spend as much time here as possible. We have decided to invite others in so that we can generate some income to continue the restoration. This is a project of love and a work in progress. It is not a hotel or a typical bnb. The stone walls "shed", the shiplap is splintery, it's drafty, you can hear 18 wheelers through the 10' ft windows, it takes a while to heat/cool....etc. But we LOVE it and we hope others will too.

Our guests can enjoy a stocked kitchen, dining room that seats 6, large living room with 55" Tv, Wifi, and much more. We do ask that if you are particular about anything specific (noise, dust, a/c, creaks in the night, etc) to please contact us before booking so that we can clearly answer any questions you may have about the property.

No keys to lose or to return! This property provides secure, keyless entry with an August Smart Lock. You can lock and unlock the door with your smartphone, using a unique virtual key or personal entry code issued to you for the duration of your stay.

Please Note the following important info BEFORE booking:

** The property is cooled by central a/c in the bedrooms and bathroom only. There are window a/c units in the kitchen and living room for the remaining living space.
** The space is not suitable for young children! There are no accommodations for babies (no cribs, high-chairs, safety features, etc). There are stairwells with rail banister, old fragile windows that are low to the floor and easily reachable by a toddler, the walls might give little hands splinters, gas/electric heaters in reach, and the list goes on. Please be aware of these things before booking with a child younger than around 8.
** We do have a cat that comes with us to the property. Allergy free environment cannot be guaranteed.
** There is street noise sometimes around the clock. We do have ear plugs available. Please consider bringing a noise machine if this is an issue for you.
** Please be aware that the space is located directly above a retail store and is on a busy intersection.
** There are several private areas/rooms that are off limits.
** There is a laundry room on-site but it is not included as an amenity and is only for the use of the cleaning crew. There is a camera/recording device in the locked laundry room for security purposes.

Being downtown means you are close to the action...shopping, dining, etc. If you are noise sensitive or a light sleeper then this location may be an issue for you.
