The apartment is located inside the Capo Market in the heart of the city !!!
Very beautiful and large apartement ideally located in the old town of Palermo, right behind the cathedral, and near the market of Capo. We had breakfast on the terrace every morning, looking out to the cathedral just like the photo, magic ! Andrea is a very nice host, he showed us a bit around the city and gave us many nice adresses to eat or places to go (parks, etc.) very helpful. We hope to go back some day!
Nice, clean place with a fantastic view. Andrea was very accommodating and helpful, and the flat was perfect for my stay.
The apartament is big and cozy, very confortabe and clean. It's very well located.
Andrea is a woderfull host. He was at the airport to pick me up to the apartament, and provided me with a lot of good advices about what to do, and where to go in the little time had.
He was even available to provide a good talk about history and local culture.
Whem I'll come back (for sure I will) I'll looking to go back to this same beautiful place. I recomend!!!!
The apartment was large and clean and location was also ideal for those who like to visit in old centres of metropolies. A little minus was maybe a bit unconfortable beds in a small bedroom. Andrea warned us about that thing but it was easy to correct. He also warned us chaotic traffic in Palermo but we succeeded to survive without any scratches.
The place to be!
The Appartment is central but quiet, big but cosy, not to expensive but clean and new. So it was perfect. Andrea was very helpful and friendly. We head a great stay at the Capo!
Andrea was a very good host, he meet us at a bus stop of the airport bus and drove us to the apartment, giving us a quick tour of all the sights we passed. He even gave us a typical Sicilian dessert which was a very nice touch and showed us around the apartment as well as pointing out on a map all the places worth visiting. The apartment was very large and central in a very interesting part of Palermo, right next to a street market and very close to supermarkets etc.The apartment was very large, comfortable bed, good kitchen and shower and heating and free wifi which was a very big plus. Was noisy at night because of the street sounds and the terrace wasn't very big but had an amazing view!
Incridible place in the most interesting area of Palermo. I will come here again for sure! Andrea was the sweetest host. Palermo in November is so lovely. Enjoy! I prefer Andrea's flat than my room in villa Egia.
In the chaotic world of Palermo, it was a relief to have Andrea as our host. He is friendly, kind, extremely accommodating. He provided airport pick-up and drop-off for an additional fee comparable to Taxi fare (I'm told) but without the hassle. As the apartment is on a small little-known street, definitely worth it. Plus he gave us good orientation and advice on the way.
Once there, the apartment was all ours. It is a two story loft on the top story right next to the Capo Mercato. A grimy but beautifully alive tangle of fish, produce, and meat vendors. The cathedral is a straight shot under ten minutes walk, and a good landmark, my favorite meals were steps away at Ristorantino da Spanò, serving refined Sicilian fish classics, sourced from the market right there.
The apartment was clean, modern, bright. Queen bed upstairs in the loft, comfy though open to the living room so no door to shut for total privacy, Downstairs bedroom is a spartan little room with a single bed and window onto the air shaft. Not gorgeous but private, although sound transmits quite vividly throughout the building, the neighborhood can be quite lively at night.
Laundry worked fine, kitchen is nice, living room comfy. Wifi seemed to reduce to a trickle at night, as other networks in Italy do, as everyone gets on at once. I had to rely on 3G during prime time.
All said, for the price the compromises were certainly worth it. And the value of a smart, gracious host cannot be overstated. I would certainly rent again if I get to come back to Sicily.
