This historic two story home, the Eli Manly House, is located in the Broadway Historic District. It is a very neat example of Greek Revival architecture, built in eighteen sixty. Manly served as the first treasurer/collector for the city. The home is 1,000 s.f., but the vaulted ceilings and open plan give it a spacial feeling throughout. The guest room is newly painted and the kitchen is well equipped. The bathroom upstairs has a shower and bathtub combination.

Die Unterkunft
The home has a wonderful covered front porch and a deck in the back that overlooks woods in the summer and part of town and the U of M medical hospital and campus and in the winter is like a fairyland of lights at night. There is a rope hammock hung between two black walnut trees for a pleasant spot to read or meditate. Beyond the woods is the railroad track for the Ann Arbor Railroad. Hidden and unseen in the spring, summer and fall. The trains are few and at the most go by late evening or early in the morning, some days not at all. I find the trains soothing and have gotten so used to them I rarely notice their passing by. The yard is large and private and there are no houses close on either side and the houses across the street are way back from the street and have trees as a buffer. Also, next to the home across the street is another large expanse of woods that divides Traver from Pontiac Trail. Easy, available parking on the lightly traveled street, or possibly in the driveway. The home has central air that is 3 years old and an energy star gas furnace that is fairly new as well. It has a new water heater that was installed in the early summer (2019).
I share my home with a 10 lb. Yorkshire Terrier, Stuart, a 7 year old rescue dog (see photos) He is very well mannered, friendly, house broken and does not shed at all. He is a hypoallergenic breed. Also he is not a "yipper" but he is a good watch dog and barks sometimes. He sleeps soundly all night in my bedroom.

Zugang für Gäste
Due to the open plan of the downstairs, it can be shared as in a coop situation.

Lage

Ann Arbor, Michigan, Vereinigte Staaten

The Lower Town area affords dramatic vistas from its hillside sites. This house is on one of the higher hills and has great views all year around. It is close to downtown and U of M, but in a quiet, picturesque, almost rural atmosphere with myriad wildlife as neighbors. The Northeast side has always blended economic classes, ethnic groups and occupations and in some ways is Ann Arbor's most diverse community. This diversity is evident in the different lot sizes and setbacks of properties in the district, as well as in house sizes and plans. The area is also no stranger to more famous personalities.
