This is the 2nd most safe way to visit Madison during COVID-19. // Enjoy a cup of coffee while looking out over Monona Bay and the Capital. What is better?--the view, or your proximity to downtown, UW campus, and the Alliant Center? Most mention the view. Simply cross the street, and you're at the edge of Monona Bay. Note: the house was built in 1941, so it has an old, homey feel. To request a video of it, read below.

Die Unterkunft
The City of Madison's Health Dept. has issued me Tourist Housing Room permit #124. You'll be staying in the Master bedroom with a view of the lake and a private bathroom with shower. The capacity is two adults and one child. (Just register as two guests and mention it to me if you have a child.) I alone will be in the house as well. Since you're self-contained, a master with bath is the best option for COVID concerns--besides basically renting the entire two floors.

If you want to do that, look for my companion listing titled "House on water, near UW, Alliant Center." If you have trouble finding that, try listing #41770940, or simply open a new tab in your browser and type in airbnb with the "dot-you know what" (I can't type it here or the software will delete it) and follow that with h/mononabay. That of course is more costly, but you will have the entire two floors to yourselves.

Back to this listing, If there is a third adult or more, that would necessitate a separate bedroom and adds $20/night per guest.

If you'd like to see a short video of my house and the dock across the street, see if this works for you: my electronic male consists of my first name and then the two-letter identifier of my state, followed by nineteen and then a five and then the integer two more than five. All of that is at gee male. If you want to reach me there, I'll share the video.

Zugang für Gäste
Come and go 24 hours; you are welcome to use the living areas including the kitchen and refrigerator. Eat healthily!--and I can give you some good restaurant recommendations, too. The Dock, raft, and rowboat are available May thru mid-October. Also, I usually have 3-4 bicycles available for you to use, which in this bike-friendly city, and my location, is a real bonus.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
FYI the Madison health dept. regulates my service as a "Tourist Rooming House;" Airbnb will add to the above fee approx. 30% for their fees and taxes.

Pricing varies due to seasons and demand. Also, if you are considering an extended stay, be aware that at 30 days+ you incur no taxes! That makes your cost at 30 days approx. equivalent to 25 days.

The bedrooms are nothing special, but everyone says they sleep well and like the beds. The 2nd bedroom has a bunk bed, (the top is single; the bottom, double.) The 3rd bedroom has a single bed. If you're looking for new furniture and shiny, hotel-type accommodations, you may want to look elsewhere: I don't want you to be disappointed. I want my guests to be pleased!

Lage

Madison, Wisconsin, Vereinigte Staaten

Quiet neighborhood, but people jogging, roller-blading, paddleboarding, skiing, or cross-country skiing past our front window make it fun. Within three blocks are two coffee shops, two bus stops, the Asian Sweet Bakery. Plenty of parking on either street of our corner lot. Within 1/2-3/4 mile are a grocery store, hardware store, El Rancho Mexican Grill, La Hacienda, Subway, Dunkin' Doughnuts, Rockhound brewery, Edo Asian Cusine, Ichiban Sichuan, Orient House Chinese, a local bar, a barbershop, a greasy spoon breakfast place called "The Curve," Famous Dave's BBQ, and a take-out Pizza Hut.

You may borrow 3-4 bikes, which make the downtown and university nicely available!

I enjoy talking about travelling and hearing other's stories. I grew up in Madison, then lived in Stony Brook, Long Island, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Jacksonville, FL, and Raleigh, NC before deciding to start over in my home town. 'Twas a great decision: I love being back in the midwest, and in Madison in particular. I enjoy reading, classical music, college sports, Downton Abby, a good bottle of wine, and being active in my nearby church. As an airbnb host, I respect that my guest typically have places to go and people to see. Yet, I'm glad to chat, or point them to a good spot in town.

Während deines Aufenthaltes
Re. COVID-19, I'll be as strict or as relaxed as you wish. I'll wear a mask to greet you, and when we interact. My daughters and I have tested negative twice, although the most recent was back September. We sanitize all door handles, etc. before each guest arrives.

That said, I enjoy sitting down with a drink and getting to know new people. However I have plenty to keep me busy, so if you want to keep to yourself, that is fine with me.
