  • This is a very cute and cozy space. Nice to come "home" to after exploring all day. Centrally located in the middle of Kensington Market, we were able to walk pretty much any place we needed to go. We were provided a list of local places that were recommended, within walking distance, as well as a map of the area, which was quite helpful. There is an affordable parking garage right across the street where we parked all weekend without any problems. I would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Toronto!

  • My girlfriend and I very much enjoyed our stay here. Kensington market is an awesome place! Right outside the apartment door you have access to really cool artsy shops, fresh produce, nice little restaurants (for any meal of the day), and a genuinely interesting interesting bohemian vibe. We drove in from Detroit, and parking was a breeze as there was an affordable public structure less than a block away (cost me $35 to park for four days, try getting that in Chicago or NY). I parked and left my car there all weekend without any problems. Public transit was also right outside, although being so centrally located we opted to walk most of our trip. This was our first time using airbnb, so I'm not sure if this is standard but the whole apartment experience felt quite hospitable, much like a hotel. Check in/out was painless and convenient. Everything we needed to cook our own food was provided (dishes, silverware, cookware, etc) although we ended up eating out every day (great variety of food nearby). Bathroom came with towels, although one thing of note was there was only one roll of TP when we got there. No big deal, probably was just overlooked by mistake. As others have said, since this is a basement apartment the ceilings were a little low. Anyone taller than 6ft will have to duck in certain spots, but I didn't find it to be a pain.

All in all, this was a great place to stay. Much cheaper than a hotel and a far superior location for anyone interested in staying in the middle of a hip neighborhood. They were very helpful by taping to our door a list of adjacent businesses/restaurants that they like, which this being our first trip to Toronto we appreciated. The provided space heater was great for drying our shoes after a night out (it rained pretty hard our first night). Would definitely recommend.

  • Great location - in the midst of it all, whilst being quiet.

You have to walk through an alleyway that for some people might not feel very safe - but I do believe it is.

The apartment itself I think is quite new, it still smelled like paint in the bed room. The kitchen has everything you need to stay here for longer, but.......

only if you are not taller than 1.7 meters; the apartment is really low. I am 1.86m and had maybe 10 cm to spare at its highest point, but hit my head a few time at the lowest points.

There was no ironing board available, which is not very handy for a business traveller like myself.

  • This basement apartment has a lot going for it, and I had a great stay here. The only caveats I can think of to mention are the location, which might be considered unattractive to some, and the air quality, which is good but not great (unavoidable due to the fact that it's a basement). Both of these were very minor complaints, though. Overall, I was very happy and comfortable during my stay. It compared well with staying at a hotel, and that's saying a lot!

  • We had a great time here. The apartment was quiet and cozy and perfectly situated in Kensington Market--you could pop out for coffee or food or produce and be back in just a couple of minutes. Joanne and Manja provided some great recommendations for local restaurants and some very useful bottled water to take along on your adventures. The check in and out is very easy, which is nice if you've got a busy trip planned. Parking is very cheap and close by. It's a great place to stay!

  • Had a fantastic stay at the apartment. Perfect location to explore every aspect of Toronto and Joanne was incredibly helpful when we needed her. The apartment was clean, cute and stayed cool despite the humidity in Toronto! Will be sure to stay again when we're in town!

  • We had a great stay in Toronto, due in large part to how convenient and cosy this apartment was. The apartment itself is beautifully presented and very well-equipped for a comfortable stay. The neighbourhood is perfect for popping out for coffee, a great meal, or drinks, and for exploring the city. Even better, though it is in the middle of everything, the apartment itself is very quiet. Joanne makes everything easy, especially checking in and out, which is always appreciated. Will look forward to finding excuses to come back soon!

  • This was a clean and cozy apartment in a good location. It was a subway trip and two buses but travel is easy in Toronto. Thank you for the water you left! It's a well-decorated space but for those who are over six feet, you may find the ceilings low.
