Overall, a good stay!
Gustavo was a good host, he was in contact before we got there and met us with our car to show us to the place. The apartment is located in the port area of Sitges, which felt laid-back and fun and there is a beach within a 5 minute walk. There are also lots of restaurants and bars along the port, but for the most part we went into the main town / beach area of Sitges for food - much better restaurant/food / shopping options. It was a 30-40 minute walk or a 10 minute car ride into the other area of Sitges but parking was hard to find. Quick 30 min train into Barcelona was easy to navigate.
The apartment itself is, as other reviewer have mentioned, cute but very tiny! The shower was hard to navigate - so small! There was a damp / musty smell to the place when we arrived and anytime we left with windows closed up for any length of time.
Our biggest complaint was no wifi and many of the other amenities listed weren't available - ie no washer, no parking, no internet. All were available close by or for cost, but not included, which we felt made this place not so great a value. We had to buy coffees or drinks to use the wifi at the hotel nearby (which didn't always work) and while not a big deal, just needing to check on an email meant a trek to the hotel and having to purchase something. Again.
But overall, we had a good time in Sitges! The beaches were great, and the apartment overall is cute and decent if you don't mind not having the amenities.
We had a wonderful time staying in this lovely place, perfect for 2 people. It's set within a chic marina, with good bars and restaurants, which is itself a short and beautiful walk alongside the sea (on a good path) from the town centre. The apartment is completely self-contained and beautifully decorated, rather like a little cottage, and has everything you need including good air conditioning, iron, hairdryer, stove and griddle, plus beach chairs. There's a dining table in the kitchen but also a small table and chairs outside the apartment for sitting out. The apartment is set just off a delightful little piazza with palm trees, and the closest beach is just a few minutes' walk away. There's an excellent supermarket five minutes' walk away, behind the marina, and a little food store at the entrance to the marina too. Altogether, a great place to stay and highly recommended!
We highly recommend this lovely little apartment which we stayed in for one week in July. It was very clean and well equipped with everything you would need for a short break such as a washing machine (and powder), all essential kitchen utensils, hair-drier & beach towel. Wifi signal was excellent.
Location wise, it was very close to good restaurants in the port in Sitges. Griselda recommended the Carrefour supermarket (10 mins walk) which was a lot cheaper to shop in than the smaller corner shops. There are 2 beaches close to the apartment and it is a 2km walk to the main thoroughfare & beaches in Sitges. However, it is a lovely walk along the coast and very easy to get a taxi back to the apartment after a night out in Sitges (€7 - €10).
The hosts were lovely and were available 24/7 should you need to get in contact with them.
This unit is a tiny two room apartment in a large (but charming) apartment complex next to Sitges port. By tiny, I mean a living area/kitchen approximately 3X4 meters, connected to a similar sized sleeping area above by a narrow, steep circular staircase. It's sort of like living aboard a boat. We're a 68-year-old retired couple, but we managed to negotiate the stairs several times a day with no mishaps.
The kitchen is equipped with a microwave oven and electric hot plate, plus flatware and cooking utensils.
We liked the location of the apartment. The port has several restaurants -- We especially loved La Tasca del Navigante, a very small restaurant tucked in a space along the docks near the larger boats -- they serve delicious gourmet food at a very reasonable price.
The location of the apartment is good if you want a little distance from the noise and activity in the main part of Sitges. There is a pleasant enough beach nearby, but the main beaches of Sitges and the downtown area are about 2 km down the coast -- a walk of 20 to 30 minutes past several other beaches, including of course the (mostly) nude beach. Since we enjoyed the quiet and appreciated the chance for some exercise walking into town, we found the location to be quite fine.
We are a bit addicted to internet connection, and it is quite sketchy in the port and in the apartments. We did find a hotel about a five minute walk away (Hotel Melia) that has free wifi and a spacious lobby where you can have a cup of coffee from the bar and catch up on your email.
Our hosts, Griselda and Gustavo, seemed to be the managers of the apartment complex. They were very friendly and helpful. Our Spanish isn't all it could be, and their English isn't all it could be, but we managed to communicate well enough to cover the basics. Gustavo met us at the parking lot of a nearby hotel when we arrived, and led us on foot through the winding alleyways of the complex to our apartment. During our stay, Griselda appeared at our door to our surprise one morning with a delicious omelette she had prepared for us. They also tried valiantly to connect us to wifi, but mostly without success. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and we recommend the place to those who share our attitudes about location and amenities.
