Peaceful stay in a cozy home with one of the best views in Naggar. Come experience a slow paced mountain village life & practice mindfulness. The place is most suitable for solo travellers who are looking to spend some quality me-time.

Die Unterkunft
You would be staying in the living cum guest room of the house. The room has a single bed . All the bedding including a heavy blanket & quilt will be provided. I avoid using the room when I have a guest so you will have the entire room to yourself unless you would like to socialize over a cup of tea/coffee or a meal.

You will wake up to the most melodious bird songs & gorgeous view of the mountains from the room.

The room opens to a beautiful balcony which has one of the best views in Naggar. It gets plenty of sunlight. You may nap in the sun, curl up with a book & a cup of chai, make some art (yes!you are welcome to borrow my art supplies), or just sit and watch the spectacular mountains during the day or a sky full of stars on a clear night.
Depending on the season, you could spot some beautiful Himalayan birds in the orchards below. You'll witness some of the most beautiful sunsets.
The view from my home is absolutely breathtaking almost all the year round.

- The guest washroom (private, not shared) is right next to the room.
- Hot water is available in the bathroom.
- I have a fairly good collection of books and magazines. You are welcome to borrow.
- There is no T.V. in the house.
- Tariff includes accommodation & simple breakfast & of course unlimited supply of tea and cookies.
- Please feel free to make your own tea/coffee if I am not around.
- Dinner/Lunch are available at extra charges. However you need to inform me 4-5 hours in advance.
- Though for lunch you would need to mostly eat out, as I am usually not available in the afternoons. In case, I am home then I will be happy to cook some simple food for you.

- Sometimes, I host / facilitate 'food' experiences & conduct healing forest hikes in the woods. Ask me for more details.

House Rules:
- No shoes inside the house. You will be provided with traditional Himachali house slippers.
- Strictly NO smoking inside the room.
- Consuming or carrying any kind of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited in the house.
- You may carry your own alcohol.
- Please wash your own dishes (plates/mugs/bowls).
- No noise/loud music/parties.
- Do not sneak in people.
- WiFi is available however please try not to download or upload heavy files.
- Please remember to switch off any electric appliance (e.g. geyser, room heater) & lights when you don't need them.
- Extra charges for firewood, if you want to use the fire place/bukhari for heating the room.
- Please keep the house clean.
- If you need more than what is provided, then please ask! :)

Lage

Naggar, Himachal Pradesh, Indien

Naggar is a charming and quaint heritage village. It was the capital of the Kullu valley in the 15th century.

At a height of 5,775 ft, Naggar faces the lush apple and plum orchards of Raison & Katrain villages to its south and snow-capped Greater Himalayan mountain range to its north. Unlike the rest of the Kullu valley's major towns and villages located by the Beas, Naggar is ensconced high up in the mountains and has some of the best views to offer.

It is the place for solitude and soliloquy, poetry and art, and days spent rambling through forests, orchards and cute little villages dotted with traditional old wooden houses and rapidly growing concrete houses.

Naggar has some very beautiful walking and hiking trails which are worth exploring. Spectacular view of the Dhauladhars, gurgling streams, lush green forests, a smattering of beautiful temples, an art gallery & a museum by the famous Russian artist Nicholas Roerich, and an ancient Naggar castle built in kathkuni architecture make Naggar a very charming place for a quiet holiday.

My house is located in the village, close to the road yet not far from the woods. The neighborhood is beautiful & peaceful. There are limited but decent 'seasonal' cafes, bakeries and dhabas in the village which are mostly at a walking distance from the house. The village hospital and the pharmacy are close by.

There is a natural source of mineral water, called “Jairu” in the local dialect, very close to my place. The water
is absolutely safe to drink and good for your health. I highly recommend that you fill your bottle and drink it during your stay here in Naggar.

Getting to Naggar:
By Bus:
Overnight Volvos (Recommend HRTC- Himsuta book via redbus) from Delhi & Chandigarh. You need to book the ticket upto Manali but you have to get down at 'Patlikuhal'. From here you can take a cab (cabs usually charge between Two Hundred to Two Fifty Indian Rupees) to Naggar from Patlikuhal.
You can make me speak to the cabbie and I will be direct him.

By Air:
- Nearest airport is at Bhuntar (Kullu), you can take a cab from Bhuntar to Naggar. The cabbie may charge anything between One Thousand to Fifteen hundred Indian Rupees depending on the car and the season.

Born & raised in Lucknow, I spent about 15 years in New Delhi before I quit the city life and moved to this picturesque Himalayan hamlet. I treasure my slow-paced life in the lap of nature. I am a social entrepreneur and work with the mountain community primarily with the village women & traditional artisans, occasionally with children.
